Pretty damn sure the Z51 is pushing 3400. The base is what 100-125 lbs. lighter. Are you talking dry for the C7? Why all the bitching on here that the C7 was heavier than a C6?

I find it believable that 3.8 sec. to 60 can be achieved on the LT1 Z51 C7. The LT1 produces a lot of torque at a lower RPM.

Default Why?

The Technology is getting better. The 545HP GTR can do 2.7s at 3900lb.
GM probably stoled that new electronic DIFF from somebody else, and the REV matching for sure already exist elsewhere.

I'm tired of the 3400-3500lbs BS, and it has a influence on 0-60, the topic of this thread. If your not interested don't click

uhoh the wife wants to go to dinner...

A little weight with skinny tires and a lot of torque is probably a good thing for 0-60!

Yes, the base car is 3298 and 3160 dry, with the Z51 weighing more. But how much more is dependent upon how the interior is ordered up.

I think gearing, traction, and torque delivery is going to be more important for 0-60 than the difference of 50-80 pounds. Bet the electronic diff is going to play a factor as well.

Considering 0-60 is very much a traction race (hence why AWD cars are 0-60 monsters), if the GS on much wider PSS does 0-60 in the same time as the C7 on skinny 285s (which I'm thinking it actually doesn't) then the C7 should be much quicker in the 1/4 mile where transaction from a dig isn't as big of a deal

0-60 is one of the most meaningless stats IMO... nice for bragging... but there are lots of other measures that are much more meaningful.

This is so true, 0-60 is a waste of time. Now 40-130 might be a nice metric since most fast cars don't go beyond 130 in the quarter mile.
