Diff Cover Replacement
Hello all,
I had the foot break on my c6z06 diff and I am in the process of replacing the cover.
Is there any shimming or anything that needs to be done with the new cover? I did a test fit on it and the next cover seems to sit a little close to the output shaft on one side.

What side broke, just wondering. I broke the passenger side, hairline crack and then after repairing it broke another in the exact same spot 3 days later. Turns out that I had broken motor mounts.
As to your question, I did shim mine went from a 1.95 to a 2.25 shim size. The reason to shim it is to set the preload for the passenger side of the diff. I used this page, it has a wealth of knowledge, Thank you.

Thanks for the heads up.
Anyone know the common shim size for the one that goes between the bearing race and the cover on the passenger size? Would like to get a feeling for where to start.
