People with aftermarket Valve Covers- PCV / Venting ?s
To folks who have gone with valve covers that either have different PCV locations- or none at all- what did you do? I'm considering a set of Scoggin Dickey Parts carbon valve covers... And a little unsure as to what all would be involved in making everything work. Any first hand experience (pictures are a huge plus for my dull mind)?
Second question- would the Katech coil relocation kit work with these? I'm having a hard time visualizing how their bracket mounts up.
Last question- Does the Katech relocation kit require longer plug wires (I believe it does) & and if so- what are our options? I saw a kit from MSD- is that the only option available?
Sorry for the multiple questions...just trying to wrap my head around this project.

Holleys here. Coils bolted on, and they have the same PCV connnections so they went on without issue.

Here's Proform valve covers and coil relocation brackets on my car. The PCV breather tubes on the valve covers were incompatible with the factory connectors so I just removed all the plastic lines and re plumbed the PCV system with 3/8" fuel line.
Moving the coils did require longer wires - big block truck wires work fine. I used MSD #39849 but you can also use OEM delco #9748kk wires for about 1/2 the cost.
Not familiar with the valve covers in your picture, give the guys at SDPC tech line a call @ 806-589-1431 and they will tell you what else you need.

OP, it appears you're going to have to use some sort of bulkhead 90deg fitting for your PCV line. It will require your drilling a hole in those valve covers. Be careful not to drill it where it would interfere with rocker operation.
The aftermarket valve covers I've seen already has the tube for vent line.

Where can you get those coil brackets? I searched with the part number in the other thread but can't find it. I rather move mine up like that with the holleys and mill off the injector mounts.

Be advised the Proform coil brackets ONLY fit the Proform valve covers. They mount directly to the valve cover.
The oil fill cap is a generic "push-in" cap. You can get it from Summit or Jegs.
The wires are MSD wires. Katech had the best price by far on them.

Thanks for all of the help with this folks.
Just placed my order through Jegs & Katech. Proform Polished VCs, cap, and coil relocation kit, & Katech MSD wires
... Oh look it snowing outside... perfect time to start removing valve covers.

That oil cap came with the valve covers. I don't like it all that much so I got another one that's black. It also came from Proform.
Be sure to post pictures when you get it all put together.

1 1 778-141-264 V/COVERS DIECAST LS POL 239.99
2 2 809-12637683 V/C GASKET LS1/2/3/6/7 EA 29.98
Katech MSD Wires: 55.55
Shipping 18.75
Total so far= 408.26
That is for the covers, coil relocations, new valve cover gaskets, MSD wires, and shipping. Not great....but considering its cheaper than some VALVE COVERS alone out there...not bad either. Plus I just sold those plastic fuel rail covers on the forum for 70.00 so that helps with the hit as well.
I plan to have the intake coated or painted, and do a few minor other cosmetic mods but this should just about do it

Sure thing! I was also pleasantly surprised with the price. You might even be able to shop around and get things a bit cheaper- as it was pointed out Summit had the coil relocation brackets for several dollars less. You could probably save some on the gaskets too.
