Just Went From This....
After deciding on a new underhood look, I needed valve covers and shopped around.
Lot of variety out there in terms of valve covers for our cars, and what is on them, including names, logos, or nothing at all.
After looking for better than a month, I liked these best, and it helped that they are an item sold in the GM performance catalogue.
Got these in, along with the coil relocation kit this weekend.
Went from this:
To this:
These are the polished aluminum, but if you're into chrome, well they have those too. The part numbers are:
19156429 LS Polished Valve Cover Kit CORVETTE Red Lettering or 19156428 LS Polished Valve Cover Kit CORVETTE for the black lettering.
69521 - COIL MOUNTING BRACKET KIT FOR LS3/LS7 STYLE COILS
MSD39849 MSD CUSTOM GM LS SPARK PLUG WIRE SET these come with the heat resistant sparkplug wire insulators.
Involves a little bit of work. You have to drill your own holes to mount the coil relocation kit, but that is easy enough, and the PCV connections are tricky, but again, no big deal.

Well guys, I don't know what to say, other than thank you so much for the kind words.
I also wanted to let any of our members know, who are considering removing the stock fuel rail covers for good, and going with this look, that there are several options out there.
This has really been a fun project, as it seems that every project on this car is, and I literally had a blast this weekend doing it.

Vengeance sells one which relocates the coil packs laterally and toward the fender wells.
That allows you to see the entire valve cover.
And then there is the style that you see in my pics which relocated the coil packs more upward/superiorly and toward the intake manifold.
I am strongly considering the ones from Vengence, but like this style also.

I have the same VCs and you will need to stay on top of them to keep them shiny or they get a cloudy look to them. I finally got tired and sprayed them a black wrinkle finish.

Also, what did you use for the PCV connect at the driver side near the fire wall?

I used a Dorman Fuel Line Repair Kit. You can get them from NAPA and probably others, and a variety of elbows

Because the passenger side connect is too big and too long to connect with the stock hose connection, I wound up cutting the connect from off of the stock valve cover with a pipe cutter, so that it would plug into the stock hose connect.
The bottom pic shows the aftermarket passenger and driver side covers. That connect is too large and too long to plug into the stock hose connect.
I could have cut it off and spliced a piece of hose between it and the car's stock connect. But the valve cover was already on and I was too lazy to remove it.
The stock passenger side valve cover has this connect on it to connect to the stock hose connector. I cut this off and used the cut off end so that I would have something to plug into the stock connect and connected a piece of hose to the piece that I cut off.
Rotated it around and used a pipe cutter before cutting it off.
Used a small length of 3/8 SAE 30R 6 hose left over from my catch can install and added that piece that I cut off so that it would plug into the stock hose, and put a hose clamp around it, and ran the hose onto the passenger side aftermarket valve cover connect.
I'll end up shortening this hose more.
On the driver's side, the stock valve cover has what appears to be a PCV valve built into it.
It runs vertical as opposed to horizontal as the aftermarket driver side valve cover does and plugs into the blue connect.
Holley calls for either a Fram FV340 PCV valve, or a Beck Arnley 0450299 PCV valve for this situation when using their LSX valve covers.
http://www.holley.com/data/Products/...R10578rev2.pdf
Hunting one of these down locally wasn't easy.
Plan now is to run it in series to the blue connector and attach hose to the valve cover nipple near the firewall.
WHICH I NOW KNOW WON'T WORK. SEE MY UPDATE POST #43.
The car will of course run with this hole plugged, and I have put a few miles on it with it closed off, but want to hook it up right.
As you can tell by now, the instructions for these valve covers, are sorely lacking, and you have to improvise a bit. No big deal, but there is not a single word of instruction, so I hope that this writeup helps anyone else considering these.
