Also, I see that your group has 4 events left for 2013.

What, if any kind of maintenance do you have planned in the off season?
Ricky, how many beers have you had tonight? Your repeating yourself ............ Mobil1 0w40

There is no off season, I live in SoCal When there is no Corvette Challenge event or if I can't make one I will do other HPDE like this one.

I don't have any maintenance scheduled or planned at this point. I will follow the advise of Richard at WCCH and Ryne at CMS. So far they think I'm fine

Had to, you didn't hear me the first time. No I reposted and added the inquiry about your planned maintenance schedule, but you have answered that too now.

I, for one, will be following your progress.

Well it's obvious that you have a lot of confidence in your equipment.

You have any qualms about running 0w40 on the track?

That's some hard driving you're doing in those videos.

How often are you changing it?

It was 87* yesterday and my oil went from 260* in the morning up to 275* in afternoon with coolant reaching 230*

Although I think this is acceptable oil temp with the 0w40 I may be adding an additional oil cooler in 6 weeks.

I change it after 3-5K miles and 2-3 track days depending on scheduling and how hard the track days. Even with 5K miles and 3 track days Blackstone kept saying to go longer as the additive package was still robust.

ACS is absolutely ***** out with multiple 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear redline sprints in each lap for 25 minutes. I wish I had a data pack so you could see the RPM and speed or at least some long tubes so you could hear it

Actually in the videos, you can hear it.

Speaking of that though a couple other questions now that you mention it.

I recall your thread http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...ock-heads.html

After the break in of 14K miles and several track days, have you noticed any difference?

Also, if I recall correctly, you run the Lingenfelter extended capacity sump tank, right?

Do you have any other oiling system upgrades, as your car is a 2008?

Yes I have the LPE larger tank since my car was almost new.

I have noticed no change in valve train noise The motor is the quietist in the morning when started and oil is thickest. I believe this means a lot of VT sound is from lifters. But I'm not a mechanic and could certainly be wrong.

I have a Finspeed oil cooler and radiator.

For those interested here is the event timing results. I just made the top 10. The 3 Vettes that were faster all have a lot more HP (550 -700rwhp) and Hoosier R6 rubber.

Very cool. I too ran the NT05's at ACS and found their limits. They start greasing up pretty good after 3 or 4 laps. It became particularly apparent when they'd begun to overheat coming out of that turn 5/6 double apex, and trying to get on it while swinging wide to carry speed onto that first infield straight. I remember having to reel it in there, as well as coming off turn 9 with that looooong throttle-feathering roll-out onto that next infield straight.

I wasn't too terribly impressed with them, honestly. Turn in felt pretty good, but they get gummy quick, and by quick I mean they feel fine one lap, and then way slippery the next. The limit isn't exactly progressive. But, that was my experience.

I'm definitately running them at their limit too. I'm not married to them but they are the most reasonably priced. They allow me to but down times at ACS and WSIR within 3 seconds of the Hoosier guys (some with cams too). One day I will break down and try the MPSS ........

I'll try and make it up on Sep 10 with Cemo and Savage. I'm in the noob group (this would only be my 2nd time at ACS) But I'll be looking out for you in Red DH. I'm also doing WCCH at CMS, no oil cooler, I guess Finspeed is backordered on them.. =(

This is why I will own a 993T someday.

(Also note this is a RUF Turbo R, look up Bahman Bakhshi, his car has at least 550WHP!)
