Congrats! Trouble? That's a loaded question. Just be sure to keep the shiny side up.

Well this thing is a beast compared to my previous two vettes... I guess there's no going back and life will never be the same...

I don't know how I couldn't keep the shiny side up. That things stance is so wide and low to the ground, I don't think I could flip it if I tried.

Congrats!

I have to wait 2-3 weeks before my C6 is here. It's killing me!

Check autotrader... When I was looking just last week, I found a couple of black and silver ones in the high $30's.... I couldn't do those colors tho.

Will do. I'm down in the Houston area and the piece I picked up was by far the best deal I could find. Everything else close to it was in the mid 40's+. If you're not concerned about being fully loaded, there were a couple of them floating around with 30k miles on it in the 42-44k range.

I was looking at Craig's List last night at all of the 2008 Z06 Corvettes, and I was shocked at some of the prices people were asking. I guess it makes me happy knowing I already have mine. Some were going for mid 50s. I paid $56,500 for mine in December, 2008 (almost 5 years ago).

Of course I've dropped a few more pennies into it since then.

I will have it at Coffee & Cars in September at The Vintage. Bring yours out!

Yeah, the prices I was seeing def helped me pull the trigger. At first I was really concerned with a steep depreciation once the C7's hit the market. But then I figured that some of that would be figured in already, since they had been announced and available for order... And then also the fact that there is no new Z06 for at least another yr or two.

I think I got a good deal and worst case scenario, if I sell in 2-3yrs, I will be out 5k or so.

Also be sure to keep your eyes on the Regional/Southwest section for anything else that may be happening around here.

And look into the COCH (Corvette Owner's Club of Houston http://www.corvetteownersclubhouston.com/).

Welcome to the dark side.

The first thing in being on the dark side is I'm going to spend this weekend getting a feel for the stick... The last time I drove a stick was in my Rubicon about 5yrs ago.

Took me a few min to find the shift point on this one during the test drive, but man, it seemed soooo much smoother. However, I did cramp up my calf in that test drive

That is absurd... It is a Z06 right? Assuming it has a clean history and no accidents, they would put it on their lot for probably low to mid $40's... I would expect at least $36-37K on trade.

Yeap exactly . And this place knows my car inside and out ...its very clean no accidents etc . They asked what I was hoping to get and I said high 30's assuming they are not gonna give me blue book .. they gave that price and I laughed intheir face . If I end up selling it wil be private party like I did my C5 .

Is that trade in reflecting that you've swapped the heads and just had transmission issues?

Dealer trades are always a big loser for the person trading in, they want to make money off 2 cars instead of 1 and will have no trouble low-balling an offer. I was taken to the cleaners after trading in my bought new 07 coupe for a used 06Z.....never again, private sales from now on for me.

I understand that dealerships are a business and have to make money... but I thought $4-5K was probably around what they made on a trade in. If they are making $10K + on one trade in, they are just screwing someone.

WHAT?????

Where are you located?

That is absolutely ridiculous, both KBB and NADA Avg Trades on an 07' w/ that mileage are high 30's/low 40's.

I'm picking up mine today and had a friend of a friend who runs a lexus used car dept quote me a trade-in that he would offer, just to make sure I was getting a good deal. He said he would likely give me 39.5 for the car I am buying and he would try to sell it for 44-45k.
