Won't last long at all. It's all about heat cycles wi the A6, not miles. They are good for 2-4 laps in a time trial event, once they get hot they will fall off. Just my 2 cents. I have A6s and R6s for my 06Z.

The Hoosier is waaaay to fragile for the street, not just the rubber compound, but the carcase itself...
I'd look at something a little more robust. The old Kumo V700 was a great street tire, unfortunately its gone....

I'm on my second set now. My car makes 1105rwhp and the car hook for a 60 punch in 3rd. Best all around tire IMO you can run. I tried the NTo5r and it just killed the feel of the car. They don't work as good from a roll either. IF you were running from a dig than a drag radial will work better though.

Have you ever put miles on a A6 or R6? My thinking is not. I run a r6 on the front and a A6 in the rear. On my second set now. Last about 3k miles. was a 900rwhp before and 1105rwhp now and the tires work GREAT! Nothing beats them from a roll on my car.

They work great. They will last a good 3000 miles of hard street driving.

Why the mix? r6 on front and a6 in rear?

You should consider getting A6 scrubs. You could probably get 3-4 sets for what a new set would cos,t and get more mileage. This assumes you aren't paying much to swap sets. I know a lot of road course guys who get rid of their A6s after 8-10 heat cycles (3 laps at 2.5mi per lap is a heat cycle for road course time trials). The corners of the tires are a little worn of course but I don't think that will impact your straight line demands. If you search on this forum there are a couple of guys who's sell Hoosier scrubs in bulk after race weekends.

The 345/30 NT05R is a good compromise as far as traction and longevity. Of course they won't hook like a Hoosier drag radial but they make the car manageable.

You may want to consider that they are NOT legal for street use.
Check that with Hoosier for those who think I'm wrong.
May not mean I would never run them on the street.

Ummm, they are dot approved buddy. Has a dot sticker so I'd say your wrong. Just cause the tire manufacture doesn't recommend them for hwy use doesn't mean they are street legal.

I asked the same question a little while back:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...e-streets.html
From the responses I got, I decided to try a set of 345-19's Hoosier A6 on the rear. I'm running new Cup's on the front, the rears are basicly slicks with no tread pattern. Its great combo on the street (for me), I'm running a N/A engine & making 620 rwhp. I hook-up in second gear every time now. If the tires are heated-up, I can hook-up in most of 1st gear. This is the only tire that I have ever been able to do this on the street. IMO, they are much better & safer than the NT DR's.
The A6's will start to heat cycle at 110F. The max traction is at 110-140. I had Tirerack heat cycle them for me. If you are driving easy on them or if you are on the free-way, they are not heat cycling.
The R6's will start to heat cycle at much higher temps than the A6's. The max traction is at 180-200F for the R6. I have heard R6's are very slippery at low tire temps. I don't think you would want to run them on the road (front or back).
