Apsis or... nothing?
Probably going to pick up some Apsis front guards unless you guys know of anything else even worth looking at (and yes, I'm going to use the rubber gasket and still put some clear protection on).

I've got the front guards and am every happy with them. They are a little pricy but well worth the bucks. I don't have to wince anymore when I'm on a dirty road and hear grit being kicked up.

After the sand blasting my car received on my last road trip, I'm pretty sure I won't have any paint left after the next one if I don't do something. Thanks for the feedback!

I had the nose, front fenders behind the wheel, rocker panel, and about 1/2 of the quarter panel done with clear film, I prefer this over having mud flaps on the front of my car. I was never a big fan of either the flaps or clear film but the fronts of my quarter panel inlets were getting blasted even with the cleartastic, so at least with a custom install they wrapped inside the scoop (removed the black plastic bezel, wrapped the film, then put the bezel back.) After tracking the car and road trips, getting sent down a 3 mile dirt road by the gps, and no visible marks, I'm a big fan of the clear films.

I've got the clear film all over and the guards. Can't have enough protection.

I learned the hard way with my '06 Z51 car before racking-up 2,500 miles. The VR paint had literally been sandblasted away revealing the white material, underneath. Talk about PO'ed becaue there wasn't a thing that'd stop the erosion insofar as how I drove the car. I bought the el cheapo GM mudflaps, that stopped the damage cold. Then, had the abrasion touched-up.
However when I got my new Z06 I wasn't making the mistake, twice.
FIRST thing I bought was Jersey's product and while it's true they're not inexpensive? They're also one of those buys making the cost among the best money one can spend on a C6 -- regardless the model; and, certainly a LOT less than a repaint, which wouldn't address the cause of the problem, anyway.
Cough-up the $300, never worry about that crap again so you can just enjoy the car as intended.

I have the VentureShield clearfilm over the entire front of the car and the rear quarter panels that are suseptable to chips. I also have the Apsis guards. I like the film, but would also recommend the guards. On my black car the guards are not very noticable. They are a bit pricey, but their are currently no other options and it is cheaper than repainting.
The guards are good at keeping rocks and other crap (literally) off your car. Here are a couple humorous pics from my last drive when I got stuck behind a small cattle drive.

Yes Dan, it's best to suck it up and shell out the $300. The parts ship quickly, fit like a glove and blend in very well. Most importantly they virtually eliminate the sand blasting around the rear fenders and brake ducts. Yes $300 is very steep, it killed me to pay it, but it was well worth it. It's a must, especially for dark colored Zees which very prominently show up the white spots under the paint when it is chipped away.

Here is another thread with more angles: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...-pictures.html
Everything I've read says expect to do some fitting or pay someone else too, and spend the money for the gaskets if you don't want to source out your own.

Installed my Apsis front guards on my Z06...here is my opinion.... passenger side went OK, and fit well. I took off the factory liner, cleaned well, and put down some 3M to protect the paint. Passenger side done in about 30 minutes.....the drivers side, i could not get the top to fit well....i spent about 2 hours and when i finally had it in the spot that appeared to be the best, the hole provided lined up with a metal clip that is used to hold the factory liner...i was forced to drill another hole in the guard to miss the clip....i filled the "unused" hole with some black silicone and its hardly noticeable.....in the end, the product looks OK and quality is OK, but not worth the $400 it cost me.........i feel the location of the screw hole was not researched very well for the price they want for these things.....but seemed to be the best product to save my paint....just my $.02
