Many moons ago I use to sell used cars and in NY I was required to offer a warranty on all cars sold. Even if the car had 100k on the speedo. That is why I always bought, at auction, cars that had factory warranties.

The Corvette was under the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty umbrella so mechanical issues were COMPLETELY COVERED!!!
Had I received one complaint I would have directed him to just see his local GM Dealership
The stains under the seat are all together "Questionable" as the photos show in our 30 picture array

His comment to me was he was traveling and too busy?
Some how he found time to address his angst here though?????

Read the first post by the op. An attorney? I'd think it would be written better. They must not teach you how to use paragraphs in law school.
Still, the response by the dealer is a little over the top Monday morning quarter back. Maybe offer to give the guy some money back? Probably not gonna happen is it?

well now that the dealer responded and the OP is silent, (could be because of the connectivity issues that the forum has had the past few days) I am curious to hear if the OP had made any good faith effort to get the issues resolved. If not, that is just plain stupidity and I will remove my original response to the OP's post.

Gordon would have benefited GREATLY by calling me so I could have "at a minimum" REMINDED HIM that he bought that car with a BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY that went out of service two days ago!!!
Convertibles are covered under the GMPP and or the 36,000 that comes STANDARD with all my GM vehicles

There are always 2 sides to every story!

I am not one to join "he said...she said" but let facts speak for themselves.
"We are likely a top 15 Nationally".....Maybe Mark Heitz Chevrolet was? David Stanley bought this dealership in December 2012.

http://normantranscript.com/headline...-David-Stanley

This dealership changed ownership and facts will also prove that NOT all management and sales people are from the former Mark Heitz Chevrolet.

David Stanley owns Chevrolet Dealerships in OK City and now Norman, David Stanley Dodge Chrysler Jeep in MidWest City and possibly David Stanley Ford of OKC (maybe recently sold to Randall Reed).

A little online search can provide much info regarding these dealerships customer reviews, complaints, inventory, and etc....

There is 2 sides to every story!

I bought my used 1 yr old 2009 w/12k miles from a dealer ad on craigslist. The car was about 2 hours away. We drove down on a Sunday to look at it and signed the papers. Monday the dealer drove the car to my house and delivered it. I've had it for almost 3 years now and very happy with it. My first set of tires (They looked new when I bought it) wore out in about 5k miles. I'm suspecting that the non-street alignment was the cause. The alignment guy sad it was Waaaay off. After replacing the tires and the new alignment the tire wear problem seems to be fixed. I checked the new tires at 5k and they still look new. Not the dealers fault. I never contacted them about it. I don't think I'd have the trust it takes to buy a used car without seeing it myself. I'm just too picky.

I obviously don't have a horse in this race, but I think the response from the dealer was forthright and indicates honest, professional service. And, the bottom line: the car was under warranty that any dealer had to honor. Plus, 4 months is a lot longer than I would wait to address the OP's problem.

I'm not exactly certain what the ownership change has to do with how I've treated people whether I worked for Marc Heitz or now David Stanley? I have sold here for years & I have always treated customers the same and we haven't had a slide in sales since the change? To the contrary, in fact, we are selling substantially more (factually speaking)....I have taken the Corvette culture here and embraced it! I haven't blasted the hundreds of Corvette owners to come here to my rescue either so Monday morning QBing isn't what I'm trying to do.
I'm replying to a myriad of distortions and perceptions that unchallenged make this dealership look unattractive and unprofessional
The internet offers an opportunity to vent and offer OPINION of certain moments in ones life but when challenged I would hope the CHALLENGER would be kind enough to participate when questions and facts are presented

As for an "over the top"
When and if my name (or my Dealership) is mis-represented you can expect me to CHALLENGE ALL COMERS and I won't be concerned about feelings

When I purchased my used C6 recently, I did not even test drive it when I first saw it at the dealership. I saw it, got the salesman's number, told him of my expectations and went home to research the C6 model on my own. Many of my "Google" searches brought me to this very forum on several occasions (before I was a member).

When I returned to the dealership, I test drove the vehicle for about ten minutes. It was pre-owned certified and it exhibited great previous ownership. Though it was obvious that the salesperson was not a "Corvette Guy" by any definition, he did what he could to be upfront. But, he could have been a bit more informed. Ultimately, as the buyer, the responsibility for due diligence is completely mine and no one else's.

As soon as I got the vehicle home, I spent about a week doing basic paint restoration (polishing, etc.). It was obvious that the C6 spent a lot of time in the sun and rain while it sat on the lot. The following two weeks I had the vehicle at the local car audio installer getting the various options I like in a vehicle.

At this point, I am very happy with the C6. Most people that see it can't believe that it is a pre-owned 2009 model. They really think it is a 2013 model. Subsequent to purchasing the vehicle, I joined this forum so as to learn the finer points of Corvette ownership.

After reading so much in a short time - including this specific thread/topic - I look back and realize that, though I did very well prior to buying, I was also very lucky. There are a few things I will approach differently for my next purchase.

As someone has already asserted, this forum is a very powerful tool.

OK...Gordon you need to defend yourself and post some pics of the damage and explain the 5,500.00 you plunked down for repairs. The dealer is making a strong case against you and how you handled the situation. He has a right to defend the reputation of his dealership and is doing a good job of it. The best reason to defend yourself is that perhaps the dealer will compensate you for damage(s) that weren't disclosed when you bought the car. He sounds like a reasonable guy and if he really wants to do the right thing he will make you happy - if you have legitimate claims. If you had buyer's remorse or feel you overpaid and wanted to squeeze money from the dealership then that is probably not going to happen but these doubts are now lingering in the tone of this thread. I don't know what happened with your deal but you made it public when you started this thread and you should answer the dealer's accusations of procrastination, slinging bile via email and not substatiating your claims.

True as an attorney ! Why do attorneys have a bad wrap ? Make us a believer and show your nice side and see what the outcome will be .
I have a feeling you will be happy and the forum wont even charge you a dime . Unless you want to sue everyone ! and have Corvettes for life ,or something special the Norm dosent understand.

Why doesn't this surprise me? Bashing another customer publicly in an effort to defend your honor? You are a car salesman. David Stanley has got to sure be proud of you.

I'm am a customer of of Chris. I recently purchased a new 2012 GS.
I'm close to 71 years old. I've bought many new cars in my life.
Chris was an is the best sales person I have ever been privileged to know. This was the first Corvette I have owned. We spent a a lot of time together in my purchase as he went through everything with my wife and I. He was an is a very good an honest individual. I can pick up the phone an call him any time an he will answer questions for me. He knows the Vett inside an out. He gets back to you you ASAP. All one has to do is call or stop in and see him. He treats you you with friendship an a big smile. If a customer does not give him a chance, then they have no right to bitch. I would recommend him any time.

Unfortunately, you do not have all of the facts regarding the Vette or my personal transaction in purchasing a pre-owned Corvette from Mr. Lippincott and David Standley Chevrolet, Norman, Ok. The lack of honesty, professionalism, and integrety from this dealership and this salesperson, who hold themselves out to the public as, "Corvette specialists," is truly a great dissapointment and disservice to corvette owners everywhere. I wish you the very best in your ownership of the only true American sportscar!

I bought mine from a dealership 2 hrs away pretty much sight unseen it's just what they said it was an immaculate 2012 Centennial GS 3LT. I feel very good about my purchase but was nervious since it was my first time buying a car "out of town".
But here's the flip side....
I had called a dealership in Houston, TX that had the same car but a few more miles and $10,000 less. In talking to the Houston dealer several times the car just kept getting worse, a cigrette burn on the drivers seat then a small scratch in the fender. The next day I called them to see if both of those things could be fixed and they told me all 4 tires and wheels were bent and had to be replaced. they told me they were raising the price by 4 grand for the repair.
