Default mustang story turns embarassing...

i did notice the last few days that when the car locks it no longer beeps. now i no longer have a horn at the steering wheel control either...when i lock the car the lights just flash, but no horn. i havent had a chance to dig into this yet...anyone have any ideas where to begin?

so we go our separate ways at the next exit and i go to honk my horn at him in a friendly gesture to say goodbye and... i guess it was probably the only time i ever really used my horn in the car....GUESS WHAT? no horn! damn thing doesnt work!

The usual suspects...

-- Make sure the horn lead is securely connected.

-- Test the horn by directly connecting to the battery.

-- Replace fuse and check the relay... use a known good one.

-- Any work done on the steering wheel?

-- Any problems with headlights, windshield washer or? Might be corrosion on the underside of fuse block.

Your title and first post begins like a "street racing" story -- which the Moderators would lock.

But it's not about racing. It's about your horn not working. So I don't think it will be locked.

If you're worried, just edit the post.

Your owner's manual might be a good place to look.

when under the hood and i press the fob a hear clicking which should indicate that the relay is still good i assume and the #2 fuse (15amp) is still good. would this indicate the horn unit itself? and is this easy to access from under the passenger side front bumper?

I can say with some amount of certainty that the fuse is not in the owner's manual.

I don't know about your owner's manual, but mine has quite a bit of info about fuses, including their locations. So yes, the owner's manual is the first and best place to look.
