What is behind the Passenger seat?
I want to mount a small AMP to the plastic behind the passenger seat.
If I drill four small holes into the plastic, what is behind it?
Please don't say feul cell.

Be careful, very careful!!!! There is a fuel tank behind each seat and it does not take much to puncture with a drill! Tanks are plastic. A few folks on the forum have learned the hard way!! Do your homework before drilling.

Look at DoubleDMods subwoofer housing for the hatch. Has a place for the amp. Looks very nice!!

I knew it was to good to be true.
I will put my drill away.
I can't put the AMP in the hatch area.
I need all of the cargo space I can get.
I may just do as others and glue something to mount it to behind the seat.
That seems to be the best place.
I would love it under the seat but it is a half inch too tall.
Thanks for the quick replies. You guys are awesome as always.

You can still put the amp there...glue a piece of wood to the panel and then screw into that. The wood does not have to be thick.
I won't say "fuel cell"...LOL

BTW ... The wood is glued down with 5-minute epoxy ... the 4 little metal "eyelets" you see in the wood are not screws going into the metal structure behind the seat, but are infact female threaded inserts that the amp mount screws go into.

Look what can happen when drilling to install an amp.

do a search for a thread I made years ago -- I installed an amp along with crossovers behind the passenger seat. Didn't drill into a single thing either.
I fabricated a metal bar "harness" that sits over the lip - black aluminum. Very cheap, and just took some cutting/measuring to setup. I didn't want to drill into or mess with the Z06 in any way. It's been solid for years!

Even if you do not drill into the fuel tank, in a collision the ends of the fasteners can still puncture the tank. You do not want to become a crispy critter.
