Default GS Wheels on a base coupe

Any pictures or experiences with GS wheels on a base coupe. Any issues?

here is what the front will look like with GS wheels on a base front end. Stuck out about a half inch, never had a problem with the car lowered.

You don't want to have OEM GS wheels on a base coupe. The rear wheels will definitely stick out past the edge of the fenders.

You can get aftermarket GS wheels that are made for a narrow body though.

Couldn't you get a dif tire offset to have them fit better ? Also if you where any lower would you hit ?

Check out THIS post that has pictures of Z06/GS-sized wheels and tires on a non-widebody C6.

There's no such thing as "tire offset". The offset is in the wheel and the C6 GS wheels have the wrong offset for a C6.

The link in post 8 of this thread is a good example of how poorly the C6 GS wheels fit a C6.

Just wondering what problems could arise: debris thrown up from wheels, turning and clearance issues with front tires, etc.

Thank you for the link to the photos.

If you plan on using OEM GS wheels on a base coupe, the problems will be more with the back wheels/tires than the front.

If you use your OEM size tires on the front (245), then you can get by with GS wheels (on the front) just fine.

The problem is with the back. The OEM GS wheels are 12" wide with a different offset so they will stick out past the fenders about 1/2". It looks bad and if you hit a pot hole or a big dip in the road, you are taking a chance that the tires will hit your fender lips and possibly do some damage.

In many states, having the tire sticking out past the fenders will not pass inspection. Some states require the fender cover the complete tire and some states require the fender to cover the tread of the tire. Also many states say that the tires can not touch the fenders.

Perhaps I could run the GS wheels on the front with stock fenders, and run the rear GS wheels with wide body rear fenders.

If those are OEM fenders on the front, then this may be an option for me.

Default GS Wheels On base C6

I had some on my base C6 but was nervous about the potential for hitting the fender. However, if you need some GS wheels with runflats, mine are still for sale:
