Over the weekend I installed new emblems and changed out my halo (total time ~3hrs). I purchased the spare halo on Ebay ($168) and had it painted black ($75) by a local body shop. I'm very happy with the end result The black-themed emblems also compliment the black top. Here's a link to the album showing the process.
Thanks goes to Brooklync5's thread and to LittleJake's instructions which can be found in this thread.

To be honest, if you did not post the Before/After photos, I would have never noticed. I thought the "halo" was teh targa top/roof area. Hahahaha. Now I know.
Looks good. I think the offset stands out a little more bolder on lighter cars though. (Such as Arctic White, Silver, etc)
Still looks good!

To the OP you need 2 more things to finish the look. Tint the side wi dows and if you really want it all to blend paint the windshield pillars gloss black to match the halo. It will flow uninterrupted. I just did mine a few weeks ago and it turned out amazing!!!

Thanks! I have the tint on my to-do list over the next couple of months. The quote I got for the a-pillars was $250 (total). Still debating the latter
