Default Help getting exhaust back together

I recently purchased a used 2008 base convertible, it came with a Corsa sport axle back exhaust installed. I love the sound at WOT, but the off throttle popping is too much for my old ears.

I purchased a stock axle back setup off a base 2012 or 2013, but am having one heck of time getting it installed.

Both mufflers are hanging on the rubber mounts, and the driver side muffler is attached to the H pipe. This leaves a strange angle between the passenger side muffler and the H pipe.

Any tips for getting things lined up?

Is the exhaust for the 2012/2013 cars different than the 2008?

Thanks.

Well yes, in '09 they changed the angle of the passenger side pipe, by only about 5 degrees. But your picture nicely depicts the result.

Suggestions that have come up in the past include: get an '09+ X-pipe or, maybe take it to a muffler shop and have them bend the current pipe to fit.

Good luck, you'll love it once it's installed.

Thanks for the info.

Are there any issues with fitting an 09+ X-pipe on a 2008 car?

No, straight swap. If interested here's an example thread, see posts #3 and #5.

I ended up buying a Corsa X-pipe for 09+ ... things bolted up perfectly!

Thought I would share a couple pictures just in case other folks are interested in the differences between 08 and 09+ x-pipes.

Here is the 09 Corsa on top of the 08 stocker:

Things look the same until the back end:

Lined up perfectly:

good it all works. btw, that old corsa could be worth a few dollars. you may want to advertise it on here if you still have it in C6 Parts for Sale.
