Joe, I've got a messy clip of me @ 191 I've got to get back so I can one-up you, lol.
I had to send my old laptop off for repair and I'm waiting to hear back if they've gotta wipe it or not. If so, then I'll have to make a new one.

Damn it ...... Joe! ...... I would have to open your thread when my wife was around ........ she thinks it is a great idea
Each year we take two trips to our home in Florida. I drive down & back with the rear of the Corvette so loaded the stuff, the entire rear window cavity is filled and now you have given her something that will allow her to bring more stuff

What was the length of the closed course you did it on?
btw, Did you have a passenger with you on your pass?
I saw two rider's in the above Video.
I wonder how much faster it may have gone on that run without the
175+ lbs. or so passenger?
Keep us posted.

The std c6 is factory rated at 186 mph, I have no doubt it can hit it...given enough space, and enough nerve by the driver.

I didn't have a passenger, but I had roughly 150 lbs of gear under the hatch. I had a lot of planets align and was lucky. My car is a bit more slippery than Joe's with the hard top, and I run it very low to the ground (2.25" at the front lip, ~3.5" at the rocker). It was a brisk but sunny morning and I had a tail wind of probably 5-8mph. The car was making 460rwhp at the time, redlines @ 7k, and I'm on slightly taller than stock rear tires.
Edit: I'm honest enough to admit it was not on a closed course.
I was on a cross country road trip from Florida to California. I'm sure many of you are familiar with I-10 through West Texas, one of the most desolate stretches of highway in the US. 80mph speed limits, very wide highways, mostly well paved, with 150'+ wide medians. I was heading westbound with the sun at my back at sometime after 0600 on a Sunday morning. After about a 1/2 hour of scanning the road and waiting for the right conditions I crested a hill where I could see nothing but straight asphalt to the next horizon. I estimate it was at least 3-4 miles. There were NO other cars whatsoever in either direction on the road at that time. I hadn't passed anyone in probably 30 minutes. No on/off ramps, overpasses, bushes, billboards, or structures. Had I wrecked, I imagine it would have been an hour before anyone even came across the car.
For what would be considered a dangerous risk, I took every precaution to make certain nothing was at risk but me and my car. I'm comfortable with having done it. I don't need to do it again, as once was enough.

I can say on a 10000 ft track my max speed was 185, limited by my 6700 rev limiter. I had 450 rwhp and 4.10 gears. I could have gone faster had I raised the limiter to 7000...but space was quickly running out. I cracked my rotors slowing from 185.

Great story "Slick".
I would love to have seen you two side by side from the roadside after 1 mile+ flat out....lol ( Joe_G Ragtop & your Coupe for sure )
Joe, all that's missing is a pic with you wearing the "Captain Video" helmet, and doing the next flying mile with your 'LiL DragPak trailer hooked up.
Think you can break 170 with it?, or would it just launch as a wayward mishapen missle at a "buck ten" or so???

FWIW:
They now make a rack that fits on/over the trunk for convetibles. Prolly couldn't get as much in as the 'box' you have, but it would NOT cover the license (not a real problem) and tail lights.
For those that need more space and a flash back to Route 66 with Todd and Buzz

I'm single and I can fill up the rear of my Z06 very fast on a 2 week cruise, by myself. Many of my friends that have C6 verts complain about the lack of space when we do the long trips. I think the idea has merit. Most of us cube out before we weigh out on trips, so overloading the rear suspension isn't really a major problem, unless you're a rock collector.
