"05 Red Color
My '05 is a dark red, and I've looked and looked on the forum to try to figure out if it's Victory Red, Precision Red, or what. The sticker in the glove box doesn't tell me anything. Bought some Victory Red touch-up and it seems too light. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Look at the glove box sticker, near or at the end of the large group of codes you'll find the paint code. If your car is Precision Red you'll see 27U, Victory Red- 74U, Mag Red II- 86U.

I never considered Precision or Magnetic red to be a dark red. IMO the dark shade of red was Monterey Red although that may not be a 2005 color. Magnetic Red Metallic II is extremely 'chameleon like' and changes dramatically with the light. When its dark or overcast the color appears darker but in the bright sunlight it pops...not dark at all. Mag red is IMO close to a candy apple red. Let us know what you find out.

I'm glad I checked the color codes on mine. Know what? I also have a precision red convertible. So only 30 of these are out there????? So that's why people stop and take notice of my little red car???

In Oct of 04, my coupe was sitting at the dealer waiting for service to open on Monday. I organized a Yosemite run and wanted the C6 for that weekend... just missed. However we were sitting at a place called Inspiration Point when a Precision Red coupe pulled in. Man I almost called the dealer and told them to sell mine to someone else, I want a Precision Red. I really like that color.

When I bought my "new to me" 05 'vert last year, the sales guy told me it was Precision Red. As I learned more I thought it was cool that it was a low production and kinda special. Then I found out that its really Monterey Red. Not much disappointment as it's a really cool color and still a ton of fun to drive. Best wishes and have fun.

Gotta totally disagree with Dave Hill and company on that one. JUST love TR on my 11' GS- wouldn't have it any other way.

My first C6 was Precision Red. I originally ordered a Precision Red from my local dealer, but he didn't get an allocation in time before they quit making the Precision Reds.
A dealer in the next town had one that he was allowing folks to test drive, so I test drove it. That was all it took, especially since it also had a red interior. I put a pic of it in My Corvette Photos. Sure hated that family obligations and other reasons made me swap it for another C6.
A good lady friend of mine has it now.
