Precision Red v. Victory Red
Maybe someone knows the difference or has pictures of the two in comparable lighting but I can't seem to be able to see a difference. I know the Precision Red was a "specialty color" correct me if I'm wrong.

Precision Red was not a "specialty color" as you stated. It was an early 2005 release color in an over crowded hue(color tone). So after 1303 produced they stopped production of that color. The following were the RED choices for 2005: Precision Red,Victory red,Magnetic red, and monterey red. I believe the powers that be at GM said one had to go. Ask Paul(Talon90) and he may be able to give a better summary than I as he has ins at the factory.

I had a Precision Red for about 3 months. It looked like it was 3 different shades of red, depending on whether it was in sunlight, shade, or under artificial light.

Without all of the gory details.............Coming in to the 2005 C6 the bright red color was Torch Red. The design group picked Precision Red for the release color for the C6. Precision Red is a fantastic color ( I know, I have one ) but it was not at all well received. The public and the plant made an outcry for a bright red which Precision red is not.
Here is my Precision Red C6 next to my Torch Red C5 as a starter:
Here is my Precision Red on the left and an '07 Victory Red on the right:

Not long after the release the search begun to replace Precision Red with a brighter red color. Torch Red was not to be the choice as it did not work well with the lines of the C6. I saw the only Torch red C6 that was produced and it just didn't work and this from someone who owned a Torch red C5 and loved the color. Here is a photo of the one and only Torch Red C6:
Victory red was the compromise. After 1,304 production units (1,274 Coupes and 30 Convertibles) the color was dropped in October of 2004 for the 2005 models and replaced with Victory Red.
Here is the panel of reds that were available at that time to compare:

Great info on all the reds!
I've owned couple of Torch Red Vettes and a couple of Victory Reds also.
I still think GM has a way to go to compare to Ferrari Red.
I used to love the Red on the Pontiac WS6s, oh yes, I had one of them also.

I was at a Chevy dealer today and I stopped to look a non metallic red C6 he had parked out front. Turns out it was a used '05, but I thought it had to be Victory Red. So I'm thinking to myself; I could live with this color on an '06 or '07 daily driver if I had to, it's not nearly as bright and in your face as it looks in pictures?
Thanks for posting, I would have had a hell of a surprise had I bought a VR sight unseen!

PR next to VR
This was take in Dec 2004 at Kerbecks, and was on a very cloudy day. Both VR and PR are great colors for those who prefer non-metallic colors on sports cars. Mines the PR, the first C6 in Delaware.
