Question on Black vs. Ebony Lloyds Mats
Hey all, I want to order a set of black Lloyds mats with the sideways logo for my 06 coupe. I've got a pair of Lloyds mats now that are kind of silver-grey instead of dark black. My question is, should I order black or ebony mats? I've heard that Lloyds tend to run a bit lighter in color than OEM and also that ebony is darker than OEM. Just want to get the color that best matches my all-black interior. Also, does anyone know if you can order fasteners to keep the mats from slipping off the posts? I have to adjust mine every time I get in the car. Thanks for your help.

Your "all black interior" is actually ebony. The closest match will be the ebony Lloyds mats; the black mats are noticeably darker than your interior. As for the fasteners slipping off the posts, sorry but I have no answers. I've never experienced that problem with my Lloyds mats on my 2005.

love my Lloyds ebony mats
Have a '05 vert with ebony interior. Got the ebony, sideways printed (read as you open the door) name and with the double post holders, they match the interior perfectly and have never come unsnapped.

My first Llyods set were ebony, and matched well. I recently got the Jake logo on Black and prefer the dark black over the ebony. All a matter of what you like.

Yup, check this thread by Wolfdogs, he put "black" mats in his car.

If you want OEM order Ebony
If you want darker order Black
There was an issue a few years ago when a batch of ebony die had to much green in it and did not match up great.
Lloyd Mats addressed the issue long ago and the OEM Ebony match is very close now...

Purchased two sets of mats for my Ebony interior:
Lloyds Ebony and Stratosphere Ebony
Between both, I like the Stratosphere better, for quality and color.
I guess the Lloyds were designed to match the carpet, which they seem to do.
The OEM mats are a darker color, more close to black

Does anyone here know if Lloyd's mats come with a warranty against fading / discoloration? My ebony ones have taken on the "greenish" cast mentioned above, especially the rear cargo mat. It's gotten so bad that I need to replace it. Am I SOL? BTW, the retailer from whom I think I bought them is no longer in business.
