Holy cow. I mean great jumping horny toads.

One question -

On the note about transmission fluids, paper parts, synthetics, and the destruction thereof -

What constitutes an 'early' and a 'late' transmission? Does a 1999 car with manual trans have the paper parts?

***

About the headlight bezel plugs -

The old non-locking style are no longer available as a service part according to Bob at Fichter Chevrolet. I ordered two new locking plugs and the new headlight surrounds to convert my 1999 to the new style.

Thanks again guys! Vetteran, of course I am, the Corvette is a "dream" car after all! I have an update coming, but I'd like to have substantial additions before updating again. I'll post an update this weekend.

Here is a thread about the paper blocking plates I mentioned:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=936671

Here's a thread about the Ford harness cutouts:
http://www.zo6vette.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71047

Here the site for bronze headlight gears:
http://www.rodneydickman.com

Bill Curlee has a great new thread about water leaks, and I know I have the shortcut on my desktop, but my desktop is a MESS. I'll post the link later.

I incorporated as much as I could, but there's still much more to come!

Changes made:
Added more electrical ground information
Created water intrusion section
Created headlight gears section
Added part #'s to replace impact bar, and disclaimer about A&A scrape protection parts
Created tire hop section
Added information about inside/outside tire sping
Added information about the paper blocker rings and transmission fluids
Added Z06 windshield weight
Added hood (C5/CE) weights
Moved hood rattle information into a new section
Added information about faulty gas gauges
Added information about steering column lock problems
Created chassis stiffness post from thread in Autocross forum
Created rocker bearing failure section
created a recommended reading section
Added old, new and LG driveshaft specs

Still trying to find out more about the Ford harness cutouts, and haven't researched Kumho tire weight discrepencies.

Default Brighter lights

Darnit, I just told someone I had some lighting info in this thread. If you come here looking for brighter lighting options, go here:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=986978

The next update will include the information from that thread, and even a little more (like HIR bulbs).

too much information-it's so much information that it's actually useless as it's mind boggling. Just kidding-I've had a C5 since '99 and I don't know dick about them (revelation)

Great post. One SMALL note:
Rattling front speaker BOSE emblems: Take the door panel off, take the emblem off. Place small o-rings on each bendable post and reattach them. Chris

Eugene, great job...

I had another problem for you - I am not sure how common it is but I've seen it more than a time or two. The symptom is cruise control not working. the cause is the brake light switch is out of adjustment.

Thanks again...
