sorry just saw that you said you are running them up front as well.
Thanks for the feedback.

I guess I'll just have to take them apart and play around with the fitment. It would be great if they bolted right up with the bracket but I'm not that lucky!

Otherwise sounds like a straight forward mod.

What diameter are your rotors? The C5 front brackets can be fit on a 330mm rotor. I would expect the CZ51 front brackets could maybe fit a 345mm rotor. If your rotor doesn't fall within those sizes then it's a no go.

BTW..........ran this setup all weekend at our first SCCA race at Hallett Oklahoma. Ran all day test and tune Friday (6 sessions) and a Qual and Race both Sat...Sun........ZERO brake issues...........

........and she had a personal best lap time Sunday during Quals.

Sign this mod off as 'functional'.

Subscribing...

So just to be clear, the mods completed so far (with e-brake) have used the C5 front calipers and brackets (brackets with milled bosses), the C6 Z51 rear rotors, and:

1. The c5 caliper and bracket need to be clearanced for the C6Z51 rotor (and pads need to be machined to prevent overlap)

OR

2. The C6Z51 rotor needs to be turned down about 2mm

Am I on the right track so far?

If I am on the right track, I have to ask WHY nobody has started this project using the C6Z51 front caliper brackets??? This would position the caliper properly relative to the C6Z51 rotor and eliminate all interferance issues, no?

Of course, the Z51 brackets would still require the mounting bosses to be machined down.

You are on track. Cant answer the C6 Z51 bracket question. I milled my C5 front brackets because I already had them. I turned the C6 Z51 rotor down on mine but if I had to do it over I would leave it as is and clearance the bracket and caliper instead.

Cost... Had the brackets and calipers laying around... If I had some C6's available would have tried them... Had mine setup running for some months now, no issues... I wanted to fill the space on the 19" rims and keep the costs down.

Will this work with the 18" wheels?

The stock C5 front brakes fit under a 17" wheel so no reason they wouldn't fit most any 18" wheel.

Sorry, just saw your post.

Ya the rear rotors are about 14" which I believe is 355mm so it looks like I'm up the river for this mod or I can play around when I have time to see what I can make fit/modify.

I just completed this mod yesterday. I have C6 Z51 front brackets all around. They needed a little grinding as mentioned here for the rear mounting bosses. I wasn't happy with the rear Z51 rotors I had turned down because they are too thin for front calipers. So I replaced the rear rotors with C6 Z06 rear rotors. They fit perfect and give you more thickness and even more diameter. Of course still had to remove the raised area on the brackets to be able to center the calipers over the Z06 rotors.
Front;

Rear;

After I ran them around awhile and made sure there were no issues I wemt racing at an autoX event. Best friggin brakes I ever used, bar none.

Great Mod thanks for sharing, By the way I am running C5 Thinspokes 18X9.5 all the way around, no issues.

Steve

Sounds good. I am running 18x9.5 thin spokes all around as well. The set up has been on the car for about 300 miles now with no issues. I still would like to increase some rear brake bias just to see how it does in lessening any brake dive on hard stops. Still looking at an adjustable master brake cyclinder, but $600 is hard to take.

I have done this, and have the parts for sale.

Note, this does work for 17 inch rear wheels!
