Default Turn Signals Work Sometimes?

So when I first bought my 00 FRC about 8 months ago I noticed it had a problem with the turn signals. Sometimes when you put either the right side or left side on, I get nothing. No signal whats so ever. But if I hit the hazards the signals come back and work fine until it does it again. Its completely random but now it is starting to happen more and more, and starting to really annoy me.

Any idea what this could be?

Thanks,
Kevin

It might/probably be the multifunction switch. You can do a search for multifunction swithc or turn signals. Here is one link I found:

This is a common inquiry...its corrosion inside the 3-way switch..when u depress the hazard button you are temporarily establishing a better connection..it only gets worse..theres a DIY thread on here somewhere in the search on replacing it..involves removing the center console..if u have a warranty I'd use it..bout $80 if I remember right but time consuming.

as was mentioned in this thread, as well as in the link provided, the hazzard switch is known to cause this. You can replace it or purchase a bypass kit.

OK, here's your easy and inexpensive fix. Once you install this bi-pass cable you'll be set! Contact Richard and order your cable, I did and have never been sorry.
It'll take you 15-20 minutes to install and costs about $60.

stormrider---that's why the bi-pass cable is the way to go! Once it's installed, it's FIXED for good.
