Longer start
The last couple days I've noticed that it takes a couple extra cranks of the engine before it completely starts. Could this be a battery thing or something else?

My guess, your battery needs charged and/or replaced.
A 12-volt battery will measure at about 12.9 volts when it’s fully charged and about 11.4 volts when it is fully discharged. Measure with a voltmeter across the battery. Then, charge battery first, if it won't hold a charge, get it load tested and replace if necessary.
Load testing is the true way to tell a battery's condition. Anyplace that sells batteries will normally do it for you for free.
C5's use a lot of current when sitting, consider using a battery maintainer when your C5 sits for 3 or more days without driving.

Guess I should go ahead and get that yellow top I've been looking at for my audio upgrades. Anyone know the best place? Who's done the big 3 upgrade? I should probably do that while I'm at it.

First time I used a Costco battery which was fine for years, then used a Sam's Club battery with the same good results. Saw too many posts in here where people got worthless yellow/red top batteries.

Burning Brakes
Mine seems to be doing it occasionally now. Will keep an eye on it. I bought the car in January so not sure how old the battery is. It is an Interstate. Could have sworn I've read on the forums that it can be a tough to swap out the battery. Any truth to that?

swapped mine out with a red top, and had no problems. Unbolted and removed old one, put new one in and everything worked. Went with red top cause it's a popular swap in off road community, where occasionaly a battery will get upside down. I've had good luck with them.

i've had a yellow top in my 78 pace car for years and it has been a great battery. since it is inside the car it made even more sense to go with a gel typ rather than a lead acid type (fumes and all that, lol). i wouldn't hesitate to replace the battery in my 04 with another yellow top in the future.
