Default Hit my goal for now!

Finally got my build done! Big thanks to Proxses tuning and everyone who helped.

Build thread

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-z...with-pics.html

The car drives great and Pulls hard!

570rwhp/510rwtq Dynocom Dyno (I wanted 550-600)

2001 Z06

Procharger P1sc 7-8psi (Will know exact on next dyno pull) 3.85 pulley
A&A bracket (Gen 1)
Proxses specd blower cam (227/235 .608/.621 116 LSA)
Lunati Duals
Bellanger Headers
XS Cat-back
Stock cats (soon to be removed)
ACT clutch
LPE Pump
60lb injectors
Ls3/7 Maf
Stock heads, ls6 manifold, TB.

Video

http://smg.photobucket.com/user/tzel...588d1.mp4.html

I did start to outflow the LPE pump with 60lb injectors.

Fuel pressure dropped into high 40's/ lower 50's around 5k rpm and injectors went into 90% duty cycle to compensate but did hold the A/F in the 10.5 range. I think timing is about 14-15 peak.

Racetronix harness and BAP on way as well as new fuel filter just in case old one is slightly clogged. Will re dyno again after.

no dyno graph on PC yet. I will get an official one after its completely dialed in.

So far I love it and looking forward to really pushing it once the fuel is dialed in!

Maybe in the future add a 3.7 pulley, remove cats, upgrade fuel system and crack 600? Who knows?

Pull that air/fuel ratio back to 11.0 and you'll make 600 with no other changes.... 10.5 is way too rich....Been there/done that.

Great numbers though for only 7-8 psi.

Boost seems low for a p1sc with that pulley? Congrats on hitting your goal!

Thanks guys. I will get exact boost psi as soon as my gauges go in this week.

I'll see about 11.0 without cats and proper fuel system soon!

Decent results for the Boost - just about spot on!

Must get the Fuel system squared away before thinking and going with more Boost!

Thanks,Matt

Thanks. Yea I was mistaken on A/F it is around 11:1 not 10.5

Will def get fuel system squared away before pushing more boost.

Car now has 3.85 pulley and I see I could do a 3.70...hmmm

Roughly 30hp per psi? Is that about right?

It has been really fun!

lil update however.....

I went over to the shop last night to wire up the gauges and got a
check engine light. Turns out is P0343 which calls for Camshaft
position sensor high input. The possible causes are:

Short in wiring
Bad sensor
Loose cam bolts (inside the engine)

We checked the wiring and it appears to be good. The camshaft sensor
so far appears to be bad. we had to remove the intake manifold to get
to( about a 15 min job)
I got a new sensor for $40 so we are going to put that in weds and try it.

Worst case scenario is the cam bolts became loose which has happened
on quite a few C5's....if this is the case we will have to open the
front cover to check and tighten to do this we would have to remove
quite a few things on the engine including the water pump, power
steering rack, blower, etc =(

If the cam bolts are loose it's really good we find it now before it
comes off and really causes internal damage to the motor.

Car was running fine with no unusual ticks or sounds, no physical damage to sensor except it was kinda dirty but it wont respond when plugged in when metal objects pass it like it should. The CEL immediately comes on when cleared and shows no voltage in HP tuners. The cam appeared to be tight when we looked into Cam sensor hold with camera while cranking engine.

Lets just hope the sensor failed and can be replaced and back up and
running in about 30 mins otherwise it will be quite a few hours.....oh joy

We replaced the sensor and code came back then traced the wires down to PCM since the sensor did not respond or register at all in HP tuners. It turns out some how the ground wire had a short in it. perhaps it got crushed during the build? who knows? We are running a dedicated wire from sensor to the correct ground spot on PCM today. This should fix the problem as we doubled checked the cam with a camera and the reluctor wheel is right where it needs to be and the cam itself will not budge. Can't wait to get back in the boost!

Replaced the sensor and checked wires which tested good then tried to start and code came back. Heard a slight tick/knock....Time to tear it down and pull the front cover to check the cam bolts....very disappointed at this point but glad I caught it now. Everything should be ok inside.

Yep the bolts back out. Cleaned them up and re torqued with red loctite. Mine were really loose...Id say miles from serious damage. I got lucky. I have a very slight misfire but am going to check plugs and do a case relearn in HP tuners since the new cam sensor is in there.

As usual with P0343.

I wonder why it's not SOP with all manual (supercharged) cars to locktite those bolts.

I had a cam bolt back out after a cam install. It backed out far enough to crack the cover, thats how I figured it out.

She is back to normal!

The plugs were bad bc the car went into safe mode when cam sensor went off and dumped fuel. That was scary. lol I was extra safe this time. Cleaned bolts and holes in cam and added quite a bit of red loctite and torqued just past spec and let sit overnight. The crank is also double pinned and red loctited as well.

Better safe than sorry. This was quite the learning experience. Thanks for everything!

Car hits 7psi ( it was colder last night and I think it hit 8psi so 570rwhp/510rwtq (dynocom dyno) on 7 psi at that time and near 11:1 airfuel.

I did get the lovely gas gauge going to zero thing today about 30 miles after I filled it and it still wouldnt register on completely full. I don't think its the level sensor bc I was just in there and replaced fuel pump. Techron fuel additive here I come

Pics with custom charge pipes and ls3 maf ( soon to be painted) =)
