That's quite a to-do list!! Very exciting, let us know how it turns out. What kind of rwhp are you shooting for?

Cool. Good luck on your mods and your hp goals. I love wrenching on my cars when I can. The LS6 responds nicely to mods so its really gratifying in the end.

Pete, You are doing a great job. Glad that I was able to help a little last weekend. I can't wait to see how it performs when finished.

Haha its a 2001 with 63k miles...Just broken in =)

More progress.....

Injectors swapped then..

Removed Air pump and factory cradle and add Procharger cradle (Didn't have spacers like A&A kits appear to have.)

At last! It is mounted!

I believe this is an A&A v1 bracket
Nice unit with lots of belt wrap but the tensioner style could be a bit better.(Which I'm sure it is on new brackets) Only issue is relieving tension you have to pry on tensioner which is stock but mounted backwards. A&A makes a great product. I bought the base Procharger kit used with some stage 2 options like cradle and A&A bracket.

Driver's intercooler inserted for fitment but I was missing 2 bolts so had to stop for now. These are kinda a pain to mount... anyone know if they mount straight up or at a slight angle like the radiator etc?

Next up

Intercoolers mounted, charge piping routed, trans rebuild, fuel system.

More progress...

60lb injectors installed

Both intercoolers mounted

Radiator, Fans, AC condensor put back in for fitment( ignor loose radiator hose lol)

Mike from Proxses tuning would like to change some of the original charge pipe designs as this kit has pipes based off HO kit. We are also going to run the filter lower in the nose of the car. Nice having someone who is a master fabricator and great metal worker.

Mike from Proxses tuning in Dayton, Ohio is fantasic to work with if anyone is interested in his contact info let me know.

Question: When you put in the Procharger radiator cradle do you still use the factory plastic piece that used to sit on top of the AC condensor?

More progress got the trans taken apart... Do you see any issues here? LOL

No wonder why I had issues getting into 3rd. I thought it was the syncro or a bent shift fork but clearly it broke the keys. The magnets did their job and no other parts were damaged by them.

We went over the rest and it appeared to be in good shape but for piece of mind I did:

New 3rd gear ( it was slightly chewed up)
New 3-4 syncro and blocker ring
Billet Keys ( Def needed these!)
Bronze Fork Pads
Steel 3-4 fork
Bearing and shim kit

Next up:

Updated custom charge piping with LS3 Maf
Lingenfelter fuel pump kit and KB Boost a Pump install
Trans rebuild (Parts will be here 4/10/2013)
TQ tube/ Drive line with DTE brace install
Gauges install

DYNO =)

Awesome build!

I did my trans a few years ago along with headers and clutch/flywheel/PP all in 1 day and thought it was hell!

A blower is something I would like to tackle this year depending on my work schedule.

Glad I subscribed to this so I can see the process. Looks like everything was much easier having removed the hood.

Will it be difficult aligning the hood during installation?

Thanks!

What we did for this is marked the hood with sharpie. We basically kept bolts in then traced around them writing on hood so we will know where to align the bolts. (You will not see this unless you are really looking for it and the hood must be up)

It is also recommended that you mark the crank pulley when removed which we used a sharpie marker (gold) and traced stright line across section of crank then the pulley and aligned this once we were ready to put it back on.

I'm thinking the A&A is the way I want to go. Now it's the question of whether I want to tackle the project myself, which I do, or paying someone else to do it and tune it while they're at it. I'd have to get it tuned anyway and there really isn't much around here to get it done at.

If buying new A&A seems to have the best package IMO. ECS is a really nice kit as well

I just did not have the money for a new kit & got a good deal on a used kit and was looking forward to learning and building the car up with my shop. I will never finance a mod.

Was it more work than I thought? Yes haha but it will be worth it.

Pete,I'm starting a similer Procharger installation on my z06.Have a new P1sc1 compressor, but got the old HO kit and cant afford to upgrade to stageII.I dont like the belt wrap, and noticed your A&A wrap.Is that a Procharger compressor or the vortech?Been looking at diff.ideas to upgrade and if thats a vortech I think I'm limited at adapting to A&A(different bolt spacing?).Also I'm going to different piping(aluminum). Are you staying with 2-1/2" piping?Would appreciate your input.Mr.Zee
