Any such thing as "cheap" Corsa?
Basically my car currently has straight pipes from the LT hedmans to the tips. Is there a way I can buy Corsa mufflers? I think they are one of those companies that wont sell just the mufflers.
Where can I find used Corsa exhaust? Just keep an eye on the for sale section?

Corsa had its time and place. That time is long past. They dont deserve (lots) of your money.
IMHO it will make your corvette sound like an import (ie. higher pitched, small displacement typical of european cars).
I personally prefer the deep throaty sound of a mustang GT (I give ford credit for the 'sound' of that car. 5.0 models and up have always had a great sound). But thats my opinion.
Consider this:
When I joined CF in 2001, Corsa catback was $895.
That same system (unchanged, no improvements since then - correct me if Im wrong), will now set you back at least $1500.
You get a catback 2.5" system (your stock pipes are 2.75") with corsa's unique mufflers. Even with smaller diameter pipes, the weight is still just as heavy as the stock exhaust system at 55 lbs.
At the time it came out, it was a simple, no-cut-up anything mod that might complement - say a K&N air cleaner. Unlike the other exhaust systems of the time, it didnt drone.
Nevertheless, people were posting gains of +15 rwhp on otherwise stock motors (save for maybe a K&N panel air filter). If you do a forum search around 2001 and 2002, you will see a couple threads with dyno charts showing an improvement.
I think once you started doing heads/cam/headers mods, that the 2.5" system would be inadequete.
Corsa was researching a weight saving, titanium exhaust for C4 but ditched that.
Corsa was a family owned company and was recently sold.
Where Corsa has soldiered on with the same exhaust design for the c4, other vendors have come up with new designs.
Specifically American Racing Headers offers a long tube header / cat (or no-cat)/ x-pipe design that is designed to be attached to mufflers of your choice.
This is what I am running. For mufflers: I am running a (discontinued) version of Dynomax Superturbo mufflers specifically for LT1 corvette. It is drone free, free-er flowing than the stock lt1 mufflers, and has a nice tone to it under WOT.
Corsa doesnt deserve any money from C4 owners.

I love the 5.0/4.6 motors, and agree they are one of the meanest, pissed off sounding motors ever produced. BUT, I think the corvette is a different breed of car. Just like porsche, ferrari, lamborghini, maserati, etc... would you want a loud obnoxious exhaust on those? Well, perhaps the v10 and v16 lambo/ferraris, yes... due to their valve/head/cylinder configuration they have insane, mean exhaust noises around 10,000 rpms.
On a corvette I think the corsa sounds sexy, smooth, mean, elegant, and exotic.
Any exhaust notes of your exhaust? MY straight pipes are LOUD and beat your chest, but I think I want to move away from that and move back towards something more elegant and classy sounding.

Judging by the cars I've heard in real life and youtube, Corsa sounds absolutely stunning on the vettes. It has the mean, deep burble to it... then at wot it sounds like destruction is coming. But its not obnoxious and lose sounding.
Ignore my chicago-esque accent uggg. I'm not sure I like the sound of that.

Just went from Flowmasters to Corsa, I like the tone of the Flowmasters better but I don't think they make a cat back system for late C4's any more. Corsa gets a better flow as they are straight thru no baffles you can drop a golf ball thur them. The best price is from Summit racing.

To each his own. I love the corsas on my 88. No more drone, purrs at idle and roars at wot. Coincidentally someone at work complimented the sound today. With my stock exhaust I used to set off car alarms regularly and the neighbors weren't thrilled.

Want a Corsa like sound for cheap that outflows it by far get the oval Dynomax Ultraflows (not the welded squarish ones). Those rock. Little deeper tone and may be a little louder inside than Corsa
I have the welded ones which are louder (car below is not mine has the ovals I believe). They move a buttload of air and sound great upstairs
Make them in different lengths get the longest one under there you can
Edit just noticed this is rel3rds car?

I was in the same boat as you a few years back. My last system was 2.5" duals with an x-pie and Flowmaster 40 series mufflers (no cats). It sounded great, but the unbearable drone really started to wear on me. I really didn't want to replace the whole system, but I wanted a different muffler that didn't make my ears bleed. I kept an eye on the parts for sale section and eventually a set of Corsa mufflers came up for sale. I had the Flows removed and the Corsas installed and I can tell you it was the best move I ever made. At idle the Corsas are probably a bit quieter, but at WOT they scream. Best of all, no drone!
Here's a thread I posted awhile back with vids of each exhaust. The only change being the mufflers.

Some info. on exhaust flow. The main reason I went to a Corsa set up. These tests were done on an LT5 but I'm sure they apply to all.

Current owner of my Z took off the old 3" system with superturbos put the Corsa on and it picked up everywhere..and is quiet inside.
Try telling people that they insist their sb NEEDS big pipes.

One of the vette magazines tested the systems years ago and the PE was the most powerful. If I recall the test was done on a ZR-1.
With that said, the PE had an absolutely stupid amount of resonance and with the butterfly valves close it didn't flow at all. I feel like I lost 80-100lbs of torque on my Callaway with the flaps closed.
The Power Effect system has butterfly valves that look identical to his "best of both worlds" set up inside the muffler. At wide open setting, they look identical to the Corsa but I believe the muffler themselves had 3" pipe all the way thru.

I agree with Corsa sounding raspy. A friend of mine had Corsa on his '95 and even with a cam, it sounded too high pitched.
I am running the SLP Power-Flo cat back with 1 5/8 headers, no cats or res. The sound is right where I want it.

Good sounding system there. Little rasp with some authority
