Default Muffler Comparison videos

Some of you guys might remember my 383 build thread earlier this year.
I posted a video of the idle at that time. I just recently changed to Corsa mufflers (only change) so I thought I'd post comparison videos so you can hear the difference. Both videos are Hooker long tubes, 2.5" duals with an x-pipe and no cats. The first video is with Flowmaster 40 series and the second Corsas. Unfortunately they're just at idle........not driving videos.

Sorry, but you should have kept the FLowmasters on it.

There are definitely things I liked about the Flowmasters, but the biggest issue was the deafening resonance. The drone was so bad that I didn't enjoy driving the car and no one else would ride in it.

It's really kind of strange............the Corsas are louder at idle and wayyyyy louder at WOT, but they are much more quiet while crusing around and they produce zero drone. I can drive the car now and still hold a conversation inside. At WOT they are almost too loud, but I'll take the trade off.

Sound wicked! Thanks for taking the time and posting videos of the setup. The flowmasters sounded good, but so do the corsas. Really like the way corsas perk up when you lay into the throttle, especially when there is no drone cruising.

Good trade!

Made the same switch a few years ago and couldn't agree more!

nice post; I run a full TPIS exhaust from the LT's on back to the Flowmasters to "tpis specs" on my 85. I guess from what their catolog states and I agree after running this system since 2004 is that interior resonance was reduced dramatically with their set up. I have virtually no interior resonance.

I was surprised the Corsa's exhaust note was that aggressive. Most of the exhaust notes I have heard from Corsa YouTube videos seem a little too quiet for me. Maybe that is due to the powertrain you are running vs. stock. I must say I like the sound of the Corsa's with your set up anyway. I certainly like the way the Corsa's look as well. I actually wish my Flow's were a little louder at WOT as they seem to "dappen" a little when rpm's get in the 3,000+ range; that maybe is good too; the police tend to follow the car around just by its looks anyway......

Again, nice comparison post for us to see.....I guess Corsa can charge what they do since they have a product that works well on C4's; or least the later C4's beyond the 85 models...

That's because you had 40 series (2 chamber) mufflers. The 50 series 3 chamber mufflers have tuning chambers in them to reduce resonance.

As I've always said, it's much easier to get the WRONG Flowmaster than the right one. And for a 383 performance car, you really should have been using the 5" thick mufflers.

mine does the same thing; sound no picture; it whites it out; I think it is a software issue or hardware issue on our computers which I bet you can control someway; but anyway you can go to YouTube and see it if you search it by title.

again, that is the most aggressive Corsa sound I have heard...sounds more like B&B or Flows (2 chamber)

I almost forgot, in the Corsa video you can also kinda see the lip spoiler I added. I'll have to take some pictures and post them.

Nice Vette! Yeah, from what I've seen, for C4's, Corsa are the best for road cars hands down. I plan on getting a Corsa cat-back on my 93 very soon
