Year model would help.
Most tuning software only works with certain years of ECM.

using a tuning software program like TunerPro RT
http://www.tunerpro.net/
http://www.tunerpro.net/features.htm
http://www.tunerpro.net/screenshots.htm

You adjust your tune using the software on your laptop and upload it to the Ostrich. That holds the tune and runs the engine .You can remove the laptop until you want to adjust tune again

You need to download the program
http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm

and the correct definition files for your car
http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadBinDefs.htm
You need $8D files / 1227730 files

90 Vette has 1227727 computer which is same as F-body 1227730 but in weather proof case

Doing it is easy; knowing WHAT to do is a steep learning curve even more so if running boost.

Lots of info and help over on 3rd Gen .More activity than here and some guys that seriously know their stuff with tuning / perf mods
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/di.../?daysprune=-1
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/dfi-ecm/

Some excellent reading in the stickys at top but bear in mind they have not been up dated recently ( theory still the same ) so where they talk about erasing / burning a tune onto a chip and placing it in the ECM ,you will just be electronically uploading a tune direct from laptop to the Ostrich.

As noted above ,anything relating to '730 ECM /8D tune applies to '727 ECM in your '90

You will need this adapter also
http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=32
It replaces the factory chip and allows the Ostrich cable to be connected to the ECM

If you find someone who has truly tuned a car well you should be able to hand them just about any of the tuning software packages. At base, they are all the same.

To be on the save side when tuning and boost builds up, it's important to monitor your exhaust temperature and air/fuel ratio-it can get quickly too lean. At tech edge Australia You can get diy WB-O2 controllers.

Exactly the same; 90 /91 use same '727 ECM

92/93 LT1 was the last Vette to use a ECM with removable chip that can be used with the above equipment

thanks for the quick response, i'll be buying these tools soon, i tried tpis mail order tune and i was not happy with it so i returned it, a local dyno tune is asking between $800 to $1000!! and since i may replace my mild cam to a better one when the bottom end goes bad, { most likely i 'll build a 383 strocker} so i think i should learn to do it my self for future adjustments,,,, thanks

No offense but if you are struggling to download a file from the internet then this means of tuning may be too much for you.
Tuning is a very steep learning curve , there are no instruction manuals , you have to learn as you go and you could do damage to your engine if you change the wrong settings.
Something to consider

rodj is absolutely right. I've been building gen 1 SBCs since 1960 and done everything with them from re springing & re weighting a distributor to changing jets in the carb & it may be too much for me. Too much fuel & you'll wash out your rings & the thing smokes. Too little fuel for the load & timing & you'll break rings or pistons (if you're lucky). And, there's other minefields to navigate as well I'm not saying give it up mind you, I'm just saying go into it with your eyes & ears wide open & give it a healthy respect

No .
If you under stand the basic mechanics of engine perf tuning as you obviously do, you are more than half way there .All you have to do is get your head around how to do it electronically without getting your hands dirty.
As noted , very much " feel as you go "; start on the simple things and work your way up.

Change spark advance limit;
Old way ,
Return home, pull dist ,disassemble , change stop, reinstall , reset timing . go for test drive
New way ,
pull car to side of road , connect laptop , change and save SA settings , drive off.
