Paint fron Summit Racing
I wanted to experiment with a new color for my 84' that I picked up a few months ago, so I bought a quart of paint, hardener and clear from Summit. I shot a test panel with this one stage paint, first with just the color. Then the color with a clear coat. And lastly, color, then a coating of clear with about 20% color added to it, then cleared. The color and clear mixed is an old trick. The clear suspends the metallic and gives it depth. This paint has a lot of metallic in it. And it really came out nice. Now I have a new winter project. Painted a couple cars with it a few years ago. It has held up very well, the only problems with it have been my own fault. The color mix with clear sounds like a cool trick, I'll have to try that on something next.
