Pro amateur, yes, at 65 years of age. One thing I know for certain. I suck at paint. I can fix most anything. I can look at a machine I have never before seen and figure out how it is meant to work usually in seconds.
but paint?
Not my strength. We all have our strengths and weaknesses.
Compound this with the fact I am a renter in Australia with unbelievable standards of a rental property. I have absolutely no place to do this kind of work.
Heak I have to paint the garage floor because my old car has left marks on the never sealed concrete!

Thought I'd post up the final correction of this dilemma.
In the end the touch up shop that destroyed my car refused to take my calls or respond to messages.
After getting several quotes and talking with car club members in a couple car clubs I belong to I finally chose to take it in to a shop in Nambour Queensland.
where they painstakingly sanded away all of the horrible clear coat and terrible paint work.
Then carefully resprayed my car, front clip and both doors. With the correct matching paint.
Then, And wait for it guys!
.
.
.
They actually buffed and polished there work!
They didn't give it back to me full of dirt and imperfections!
WOW!
.
.
.
.
.

So, the answer is. How to remove clear coat over horrible paint work.
Thousands of dollars in Labor! Sand it all off!
She's all better now. The front of my car matches the back of my car again. But my bank balance is wounded.
