Default 68 British Green Pictures Please

I知 taking my 73 to the painter next week and I知 still on the fence about choosing the color.
I知 seriously considering a dark green shade and I知 trying to decide between three.
One is Lime Rock Green which was an oem color on the 2017 C7痴.
Another is Polo Green which was an oem color on the 1997 C4痴.
And the third is British Green which was an oem color on the 1968 C3痴.
I have a ton of pictures of Lime Rock and Polo Green, but I only have two pictures of 68 British Green.
I want the paint to have the least amount of metallic and metal flake as possible.
If you have pictures of the British Green offered in 1968 please post them.
In different lighting would be awesome and close ups to see details of metallic in the paint.

The other two colors I知 considering are Dodge F8 green and black.
Thanks in advance.

Maybe this will help, they told me during judging it had way to much flake in it.

68 BB Coupe Portfolio in various lighting with pro photo shoot:

One with stellar history :

In regards to the flake, the colors are mixed based on a formula the supplier provides. If your dealing with a real pro, you can pick your color and they can vary the flake itself. For example diameter, amount etc. from very mild to VERY wild House of Kolor wylde. So keep that in mind, you get to make it what you want !

Have you looked at Donnybrook green? Factory color on early C3…..it’s my favorite. You can google it.....think it was used on 1970 Vette. Problem with pictures are that they NEVER reproduce the image on a computer that is correct, so when picking a color....you need to see the real thing, or the paint itself. Images are very misleading.

I like all of your color considerations, but if you're going Restomod, then go all the way. Make it unique, painting it a C3 green color will make it look stock. I know you've put in a lot of time choosing a color, but considering the cost, you only get one shot. Dodge F8 green looks good and you can never go wrong with black. Good luck, looking forward to seeing your completed project.

Thank you, but Ouch! You're killing me...my 50 years of C3 ownership ('69 L46 Coupe & '71 LS5 Convertible) is coming to an end this week. It's gonna be very emotional and hit me hard when it's not sitting in the garage. My posting on the CF will cease, but I will be following OCB's Restomod project.

Maybe my car will show up on the forum with a new owner.

Good advice in my opinion. And ... don't get a green so dark that it looks black. Also metal flake seems like it belongs with those dark shades giving them some distance from completely dark, so I'm not sure you want to avoid metal if you go towards the dark side..

Dodge F8 green to me looks a little too much like what the army paints vehicles. Here's a dodge of a different color. I don't know what this color is, likely not factory, but it definitely announces itself as green..

What?
Its sold?
You and your car have been an inspiration to many here on the forum.
I will hate to see you leave.
If you can, post a thread with some history of you, your C3 and your ownership of it so we can give you a good send off and farewell.
Good luck on your next journey, wherever you go!

Was there much difference between 68 British Green and 69 Fathom Green? I have never seen the two side by side, but from pictures they looked very close.

Green will look great, in my view the mid to lighter greens show more of the body contours than the really dark ones and adding metallic adds to that as well.

If you go to the top of the C3 general page, to where the sticky threads are located, you’ll find one thread that breaks it down to corvettes by color, pick the green one, and you should see many, unfortunately, if they posted pictures using photobucket, they might not show up.

Roy
