Default Quickjack and jack stands

For those out there with a Quickjack...... do you put a couple jack stands under the car in addition to the Quickjack just for that extra level of safety? If you do, where do you put them since the side rails are taken?

This is correct. No need for jack stands. Plus, with the Quick Jack you have to get under the car either at the front or back.so there is no place to put jack stands.

I'll be the outcast here. If I'm going to have it in the air for a long time (winter work type of thing) I put a set under the front by the swaybar mounts but just to sort of take some of the weight so it's not hanging the entire front of the car from the door ahead. I've got a set of rubber pads that sit on top of the stands and all I do is raise the lift all the way and before I let it down onto the stops I put the stands in place and when it gets lowered to the stop it touches the pads and compresses the rubber. Measured difference in height at the bumper point is minimal but I somehow feel like it's helping take some stress off of the frame / body / firewall joint.
Not for safety concern at all

After I lower the quick jack onto the lock, I like to slide a jack stand under the rear of each quick jack.

If I have mine up for an extended time I add a jack under the front crossmember as well.

This is how I've been doing it also, just for the warm fuzzy it gives me.

Thanks all for the feedback on this.

A completely different Quickjack item I found that could be of help is the issue of not being able to reconnect hoses at the pump connections. I had this issue and couldn't get the hoses back on....just wouldn't push back on at the pump side. Found that with the pump plugged in and pressing "down" while pushing on the quick connects....they go right on. Hope this helps somebody.

lesson i learned too.
what happens is when you let it down, if you do not let it drop all the way (also why the compessed air in cylinder pushes down) and release pressure, it is very difficult to unhook.
Of course mine stay hooked up and under car

X5 quick jack. I started using additional jack stands then quit.
