Default 80-82 with L88 hood

Hi,

I am toying with the idea of L88 hood for my 1980, but I would like to see some pictures to make my mind up.

Would you be so kind and post pictures of your 80-82 with L88 hood, plese?

Ideally Black, but any colour will do.

Also, If you have 80-82 with wide arches and L88 that would be even better.

And

Is it right to fit Big Block Hood on a Small Block Car?

Thank you

I love the look of the L-88 on my '69 and you certainly can put a big block hood on a small block car!

[QUOTE=bluegtp;1576357261]waiting on hood shims for the latches....sorry for the lack of sunny pictures.

Rudolph your car is beautiful and Startwith 80 I like the two tone paint scheme, but

This picture made it for me

The contour of the scoop is the same as the front bumper.

Really like it.

There seem to be two different heights and for me being a short **** I need the smaller one to see ahead.

How tall is this hood 2”or 4”?

78Vette-Sa:
are you still trying to sell yours? you need some new pictures of it!

thanks....i haven't post many pictures since I'm still putting it all back together and waiting on parts...i still have some trim/weatherstripping to put back on it and along with some electrical work and rebuilding the front suspension....i will once i get it on the road. Had a post a while back.....http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...nted-pics.html

C3Paul:Thanks, those front end shots is what made me change my 79 to and 80-82 front/rear end. This hood is the shorter one. Purchased from ecklers, painter had some leveling to do on it and we had to fit a lot of shims to get it up to the level of the fenders when mounting it on the hinges. I'm still waiting for more shims for the latches to offset it.

Could I private message you concerning the hood fit you did? I need advice/help along those same lines.

If someone made the right offer I would sell it. So yes, it is still for sale.

Pictures I take just don't seem to do it justice and it still looks exactly the same so I figured use what works.

But a recent Video (from another thread running here) has current pictures in it.

Paul, I got a few pics on my album under my profile. My hood is not yet painted but its a black primer right now.
There are two heights out there for L88 hoods. Standard and the hi rise which is about 4 -4.5 inches tall from top of hood. Hard to see out of the windshield from what I hear with that model. I do like that two tone paint scheme above. Very nice. Its got me thinking...

Could everyone that posted pictures please put down where you bought them and standard or high rise size.
I want to buy a L88 hood this spring and want to get one that fits good with the least amount of block sanding needed.

I'm adding a scoop to my stock 82 hood. Just never have liked the gap issues of after market hoods. Still have a lot of fiberglass work to do on it, but when finished will have perfect fender gaps still and stronger then after market ones.

Just laying on the car and not bolted up
