Here is a link to my Photobucket account where I have saved some photos of birdcages from various sources. It gives you an idea of what is behind the fiberglass:

Here's a link to a recent thread where JohnZ provided an image of a coupe birdcage:

You can check the condition of the birdcage in the windshield area by taking out the glove box liner (an easy operation). You can check the condition of the door pillars by shining a small flashlight into the hinge openings and looking up to the W/S area and down to the rocket area. A small pivoting mechanic's mirror that will fit into the hinge opening is helpful as well.
Check the condition of the rocker channels from underneath. They are hard to see with the body on the frame, but are visible if you can get under there.
Another suggestion that I was given when I was looking for a C2 was to take a small digital camera and shoot up behind the dash area to capture what you can.
I hope this helps.
Good luck with your purchase.

What are these chains for?

It spent part of its life as a race car. How do I know? The front frame horns have brackets to tie it down and the rear has chains attached to connect a tie down to.
No doubt somewhat serious if they put it on a trailer.

put it on a rack and have a professional inspect frame and bird cage....go by a reputable body shop and have them price a paint job and put the headlamps back to original,,,,are the headlamp motors there?

64 Fairytale?
Can anyone make out the license plate on this car? It is fuzzy in the pictures, but almost looks european. Since there has been no reply to what happened on this deal, I wonder if it wasn't a fairytale.

Ya, I went through his flicker pictures and he has bikes with Euro plates. Gonna chalk this one up to "You won't believe this BUT"...
