Here's a Simple Question On Using the Body Dolly
Made up a dolly for my '64. I used the plans from the "Body Lift" book published by N Adams. It's a tad longer than wide. The question is which way does it go under the car? Does the longer side go along with the length of the car or does it go perpendicular to the length of the car?
Oh, and also, does the car's floor pan just rest on the top two, 2x4s or where?
Thanks in advance.

I've never seen the dolly plans BUT I would think it would run length wise like the body. The steel rocker channels should be supported by the dolly. Not the fiberglass floor pan.

Ok, thanks for the info. So the long rails go along the steel channel under the doors and the front cross rail sits in front of the firewall while the back rail sits in the tunnel between the jack compartment and the seats.

Yep, that's the one I made. Problem was when the 12 guys had it up in the air, the dolly got turned around. The body was heavier that expected and a bit of panic set in. So now I've got to lift it off again and re-position it. No problem.
Thanks.
