powerglide steep hill stall-out
anyone help out with my latest problem. here's the situation and symptons. 2 speed powerglide tranny. going up a steep grade at 10-15 mph and with a shift from D (drive) to L (low) my motor stalls out on me and won't restart .
it's happened now twice in the past 2 weeks.
particulars: just got back from a good out of town run (motor seems to be very hot). i thought i flooded the carb but there is NO gas smell under the hood. after waiting about 15 minutes (time for the engine to cool a bit) the car restarts.
the motor was rebuilt last year with a new carb & gas tank.
anyone had this problem ? suggestions or things to look for.
thanks for any help. ted (pusher)

When it stalls on the hill, do you restart it on the hill or do you roll back to flat ground and then restart or restart on the incline?

While you're waiting pull the air cleaner lid and pump the gas a few times and see if you can see the carb squirt gas.

check your fuel pump, I just went through a similar problem and the pivot rod for the pump lever arm had walked out far enough that the pump wouldn't supply enough fuel under a heavier load (as in uphill).. here's the link to the thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...ut-of-gas.html
