No More Waving To Any Vette Above a C-3

Melting Slicks
From my experience short wheel base 4x4's are not as good as long wheel base cars. Short wheel base cars tend to get front and rear bounce when inclining on loose gravel. Stewy

I do 85 and below, a lot of my car guy buddies are buget limited to late 70's novas, 73-up chevelles, early 80's iroc's and even a 85 Porsche 928s. The "car guy" cars stand out on the road. If i can tell its your pride and joy, I'll give you a wave/ thumbs up. Gotta keep the spirit of the hobby alive.

2020 Corvette of the Year Finalist (appearance mods)
C1 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
In Canada it's always been that the newer Corvette should wave first when meeting on the road as a sign of respect for previous generations.
Hmmmph!....kids these days got no respect!

Funny that you think new Vette drivers are young...the second oldest buyer base in GM's line up (after Caddy) is the Corvette!

I think he was refering to the younger generation vette not vette owner... although I was 23 when i got my c6, 30 when i got my c2... a month ago..

Waved at a restored 60s VW convertible that I passed...took the 4 college kids by surprise.
I didn't know that....that's reverse of the customer base in the 60s...it was young punks like me then.

yea, but it was the cost back then too!....it cost around 5 grand if I remember correctly.....I worked nights during HS to help pay for it, but I couldn't have done it w/o the parents throwing $$ in.....it was easier for the guys in their 20s, but they were still costly.
I briefly fantasized on a Shelby Cobra (non-mustang) , but it was 2Gs more & outta my range.

I got my (used) '64 at 17 for $2600 in '66, only 16,000 original miles. That was stripped new Mustang territory, and lots of young people bought those. Still have her today with 300,000 on the clock.
Wages haven't kept pace, a 2012 V8 Camaro is out of reach for almost all high school kids.
If Detroit doesn't watch out, some foreign manufacturer (Korea? China?) might pull a "Miata" (half-price Lotus Elan) and offer a rear-wheel drive pony car with good mileage, syling and performance at a $15,000 base. Might be worth it at cost to "grow" future sedan and minivan customers once their kids start arriving.

The Wave?
Guys;
Long ago, in the day (1965 or so) the guys with new (mid year)
Corvettes would give a dip of the headlights to another coming the
other way. This was a very exclusive club back then and no one
other than a Corvette Guy could horn in. So, if you see an
old Black Fueler here in N.E. Ohio with a white haired old guy at the wheel, the headlights are not broken, just dippen.

I guess I just don't understand this. When I bought my first Corvette in the 70's, the custom was for Corvette owners to give "the wave" to other Corvette owners. It was a little club.

You guys need to get around more. The C5 guys are the ones complaining no one waves.
