Are you going to Open Track Day at NCCAR Aug 3, 2013?
ECCC is hosting Open Track Day at NCCAR on August 3, 2013. Are you going?
Which class? ("A": up to 80 mph, "B": 80+ mph, or "C": Race-Prepped.)
What are you running? What have been your experiences at NCCAR?
(UPDATE 06/07/13: My impressions of this event can be viewed here.)

I'll be there - 01 vette with boltons and a tune ( car in sig) - - definitely the 80+ class....
Ran this event last Aug with ECCC and it was well organized and a fair amount of cars...no instructors...
Just ran with Asphalt Adventures Sat and Grip Syndicate in May.
No comparison to ViR, but I enjoy it and usually the events there are a bit less costly than ViR....
Also, lots of run off space if ya happen to need it
Search YouTube, several vids there to give ya idea....

I did watch several vids on YouTube that ranged from tame to downright scary.
As you've done Open Track Day by ECCC before, a few questions, for me and also for interested readers:

- What class should first-time participants at NCCAR run?
- How do they enforce <80 mph in Class A? Is there a cop with a radar gun?
- The flyer says "four 15 min sessions." Does that mean each participant runs the course four times?

My first time I ran the 80+, already been over 100 so didn't want to be limited, that doesn't mean obviously if you're in the 80+ you're always driving over 80, believe its more meant for those that just want to cruize around have a class and those that wanna push it a bit more are separated. It can get frustrating, and possibly dangerous, if you're behind or coming up at speed on a car running slow and ya can't pass - How do they enforce <80 mph in Class A? Is there a cop with a radar gun?
Dunno, didn't see anybody with a radar, but I'd imagine you could kinda tell those going faster; perhaps a club member in that group reports back(?) - The flyer says "four 15 min sessions." Does that mean each participant runs the course four times?
No, you go out with a group of cars and complete as many laps as you can/want to during the allotted time, with passing limited to certain sections (think its just the front straight) and with point by

Hmmmm. A 90 minute drive (3 hr round trip) and seventy-five bucks for 15 minutes on the track.
HPDEs with a NASA instructor at VIR was $50 for a 15-20 minute session with point-by passing, and VIR parade laps were $25 per session (but no passing.)
Sounds like dragging is the most cost effective!

Awww, yeah, but math is wrong - 4 sessions of 15 min each so a total of 60 mins...for $75....
Thats why ya wanna do the 80+ group - to get as many laps as ya can
Kinda like my golf game - I certainly get my rounds money worth with the number of swings I take

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, this event is Next Saturday! (Aug 3rd)
I just spoke with Mr Dawson about it and here are some times to consider:
The Check-in/Tech Insp is from 7:00 - 8:00. He asks that we be on time for this.
At 8:30 is the drivers' meeting.
Around 9:00, the first group, Class "A" will be sent onto the track.
If you've noticed that your entrance fee check has not yet been cashed, not to panic. Mr Dawson said they're being held until the beginning of next month (Aug.)
See ya at the track!!

Glad I found this post, I was working on limited details from the flyer. I watched some videos as well and noticed that you guys are a lot more aggressive than expected. I've done VIR once but it was much more tame (up to 120 mph in the straights). I look forward to seeing you all this weekend. Unfortunately I'm not a Corvette guy yet but I'm hoping I won't be too slow.
