There's seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the replacement interval of the transmission internal filter. The filter I'm referring to is the one that is replaced by removing the transmission pan, similar to other cars. This is different than the canister filter that's under a 4-bolt cover. One dealer thinks it should be replaced with the fluid at 3 years or 45,000 miles, whichever comes first. Another dealer has no idea when it should be replaced. I don't see anything listed in the owner's manual regarding this filter, only the canister filter. Any ideas or documents anyone can find on this??

"Lifetime" filter unless there is an issue internal to the DCT that would potentially compromise the filter. No need to change during any routine maintenance.

Lots of confusion where? In the four or so years reading this forum I’ve seen two post counting yours. Manual doesn’t say it needs to be change.

its a life time filter just as previous post stated.

Filter on the inside DCT does not need to be changed at the 3-year mark.

Just make sure they also do the hydraulic flush prior to changing your existing canister and fluid. Lots of dealers will tell you this is not necessary but it is, for any C8's, even the 20s and 21s.

A noted by others and those who have investigated in electronic service manual -NO need to change it appears ever. Perhaps if doing extensive Tracking or 100,000 miles ??

Also to get pan off have to move DCT away from cross member. Chuck at dealership where Rick Conti works showed doing his car. He mentioned it was not needed showed what was required to move DCT and said really not needed. Conti said yep I have been doing some aggressive events and think it’s a good idea. IMO he may have been ready to get his next whatever Vette and was going to sell it. Just my guess

I would not change my street driven E-Ray internal filter and did not on my prior 2020 C8 Z51.

My modus operandi is that if a component does not appear in the maintenance schedule, then it does not require periodic maintenance.

As others have already pointed out, there is no confusion at all. The internal DCT filter doesn't require any regular maintenance.

Whew! Dealers charge anywhere from $400-1,200 for a DCT filter change.. Bet that filter change would cost $2,000 or more!!!!!

If it was meant to be changed or the DCT pan removed "periodically" they would not have made it difficult. The DCT has to be supported while support bolts are loosened, and case moved to get the pan off!

The $1,200 charged by my dealership for the three year DCT service included the internal filter, fluid and the $600 for labor. The filter was just over $200.
