Back in the day there was a company that made a replacement 3rd brake light that replaced the entire black part with a red lens LED 3rd brake light.

Does anyone remember who made it?

Vette Lights has them. Also the oem one is sealed so it is sacrificial.

I can’t find one that replaces the whole CHMSL black part. I found the old company called brite ideas but they’re not around.

Sorry I did not understand. You are looking for the small spoiler that the brake light fits into right?

Yes, the Company was Brite Ideas. I purchased one in December of 2007 and still have it / like it.

I hope this what your asking:
I bought from vette lights very happy with there 3rd brake light. You can set it up to blink 3 times when hitting the brakes to get attention of the person behind you.

Is it the , now defunct, "39 LED" High Mount Third Brake Light? Search for that.

My rear bumper was too far distorted from a decade of an aftermarket ZR1 spoiler to accept the OEM CHMSL... ended up having to reinstall the ZR1 spoiler. Oh well.
