Painting rims-BC/CC over rattle can
A couple of months ago I sandblasted my 1969 rims and then primered with Rustoleum rattle can and then painted them in rattle can Argent silver.
Recently I found a NOS 1969 corvette rim that had the factory silver green color.
I took the rim to a automotive paint store and they color matched it and mixed me up base coat clear coat paint and the color was very close to that factory silver green.
My question is this; can I just shoot the BB/CC right over the fairly new rattle can silver without any prep work other than cleaning?

Just my .02 but I would scuff the wheels with a 3M red scuff pad. It's like 320 sand paper. Then use the correct primer and sealer for your paint before using the BC/CC. Again just my .02.

I think I'd also look at a satin for the clear coat unless you are wanting a high gloss finish.
