C5 Headlight Door Pops Up when Light Off
Hi friends,
Please comment if you have knowledge of what my problem listed below may be.
My 2003 coupe left side (driver side) headlight door opens OK but when I turn the lights off, it closes completely but then immediately pops up about half way and stays at that spot (partially open).
No problem with the other side (right side).

What is a good google term for this? Please suggest a search phrase if you can.
I did find a Youtube video where the guy showed that there are two bumpers and the 'stop bumper' is probably worn.
He did not mention anything about a shim.

also, buy his bump stops in an abundance of caution.

I didn't notice that he was selling those too. Won't the existing washers be ok?

FYI regarding the headlight bumper replacement.
That was not enough.... in fact, the right side did indeed require the metal shims/spacers and that did fix it.
The suggestion by TheApostal was right about that.
I bought this car new and didn't have any headlight problem until 2021.
Rodney Dickerson referred me to a gentleman from Indiana who knew the car needed the metal shim/spacers on that side (driver side).
Fortunately for me, he was visiting his daughter nearby and actually came over and did it for me several weeks later.
So, did the car have those spacers on it originally and did they fall off when I had the motor replaced?
If not, I don't know why it would work all those years without them when adding them did fix the problem
Thank you TheApostal.
