Default “Burble” Good or Bad

My “New” C6 GS came with a K&N Cold air induction and Borlas. (Not sure if they’re just mufflers or complete exhaust system. Would appreciate help in identifying) The car has a sweet Burble when decelerating. I’ve just read that this is bad for the engine. Is this so? And how does one correct this? Hate to lose it, but if it’s bad…..

TIA

It reminds me of a Dodge Daytona I had long ago, you could always recognize the cars sound.

Plz post photos of your mufflers so I can help you identify what model of Borla exhaust you have. Most modern exhaust systems are designed for more snap crackle pop on deceleration.

How the engine is tuned can also influence this.

I have a totally stock C6 grand sport and with the NPP open, it burbles like crazy. I love it. No harm to the car whatsoever.

Yes it's normal and there was a burble tune topic not to long ago. Someone asked about making it even more pronounced.

Thanks! I’ll get pix to you tomorrow. I’ll I’m reading is now bad Burbles are for the engine. Also, how do I find out if this car has a performance chip in it or not?

Bought her from a foreign car dealer. 2010 1 owner drop top with 6K on the clock. (Carfax checks out) The dealership was unaware of the K&N Induction and Borlas. Great for me…It’s been like a scavenger hunt and I’m quite happy with what I’m finding

Theres no such thing as a performance chip for a c6... chips stopped being a thing on any cars after obd2 became a thing. Its possible the car was tuned but you'll have to find someone with HP Tuners software to pull the current configuration file and see if its stock or if it's been modified. I'm going to guess with just those mods its not likely someone spent the money to tune it though.

On the burble thing I wouldn't sweat it. My GS burbled like crazy when it was stock. Its not going to hurt anything, some tuners even tune to make it more pronounced by pulling spark on closed throttle decel to allow more fuel to get past the exhaust valve.
