Default problem with door button

Drivers door button collapsed inside the door today. Button is pushed in completely (broken clip inside or something) into the door and does not protrude any more like it is supposed to. Outside driver door release also won't work now. Have to enter thru passenger door and reach over and down to floor lever for driver door.

Taking it in to dealer in the a.m. will keep you posted. Cannot imagine what happened. No one uses the car but me.

Hope they can repair or replace it easily and quickly. Let us know the outcome.

Much as I love this car - I would not mind having door handles and a key.

For a temporary help, you might be able to reach through the hole inside and move the switch around to release it. It is possible that the switch is always pressed and that is causing the outside switch to not work. Also, opening the trunk and pulling the door release cable from there might be easier than crawling through the passenger side. Just make sure to press unlock on the FOB before doing that so the alarm doesn't go off.

Just until you can get it to the dealer...

Took it to dealer today at 7:30 a.m. and left it there. Get five miles down the road he calls my cell and says come back and get it. Three minute fix. Said he took off silver cover and fixed it right up.

Just don't get out of the car again and it'll never happen again.

That's only possible for those that have the built in #1 or #2 flow-thru seating options!
