I got locked out of my c6 today...
I was heading to the golf course and I put the remote in my golf bag and threw the bag in the car. I closed the rear hatch and went to open the driver side door and NOTHING. I have was pretty shocked that the car would not unlock with the remote inside. I was able to get the second remote and get in, but it would have been really bad if I was leaving the golf course and not going to it. I hope this helps you from making the same mistake.

I thought it would be like the mercedes SL 500, i know if you leave the fob key in the trunk that the trunk won't close becasue the fob key is in there. But that is suprising i thought you would atlease be able to get in.

Just out of curiosity, do you have Passive Door Locking set? The car is not supposed to lock if you do AND you leave a transmitter in the car. Notice the way I worded that: "not supposed to".

I believe it was said early on that the one way you could lock yourself out was to put the keys in the hatch and close it.
I guess we now have proof that it is true.

not sure if the passive door lock option is on or not. Didn't give it much thought until now. I never heard that the car would not unlock with the transmitter in the trunk. Heck, if it's in your pocket anywhere near the car the damn thing works. Yep, onstar would have been cool to use, IF I HAD IT. Oh well, it won't happen twice......

Since I have not yet programmed passive locking while I had FOB No. 2 in the car, it will not lock the car passively (automatically). Don't know yet if this has anything to do with the situation or not. Will experiment further tomorrow.

While at the plant labor Day, we asked a worker about the fob range. It triangulates that the fob is in the drivers seat for car to start. If you are in the passenger seat with the fob and reach over to start the car, it won't start. Then we tried the back hatch. The fob had to be within inches of the rear hatch center to open with the button. So fob being inside the hatch area was probably too far away from button receiver.

Mine started with me standing behind the car with the hatch open. Yes, the fob was in my pocket. When I was putting in the speakers today with the passenger door open and me sitting on the rocker panel the green light on the switch was on.
