Oil Filter
What is the suggested type or brand of Oil filter suggested for the C6? I don't have the manual here at work, and I am planning on stopping by the Auto Store on the way home to get everything I need to change my oil. If anybody can help me out with this, I'd really appreciate it.

Bob, at Ken Fitchner Chevrolet, says any of three AC Delco filters can be used. The new one for the is a PF 46 but the PF 44 and the Ultra Guard UPF 44 are also fine.
The owners manual says PF 44 so I really don't know where this PF 46 came from but I have seen it as the recommended filter on other websites for the C5 and the C6.
EDIT: Just talked with Bob. The PF 44 has been discontinued, replaced by the PF 46.

I have been under a couple of C6s and indeed the filter is a PF44. GM parts no longer offers the PF44 as such with a replacement of PF46. We stock and sell at a deep discount the UPF44 ultra AC Delco filter. Give our boys in parts a call at 406-628-4121 to place an order.

As what Ken said, the PF46 has replaced the PF44. If your engine came with the PF44 on it the replacement filter is the PF46 or my recommendation would be to go with the Premium UPF44 which we still have. The UPF 44 filters are 7.95 ea singally or 6.95 ea in lots of 6 or more. We also have the drain plugs at 2.11 ea .
If you ever have any questions give me a call at 406-628-4618 or email me at parts@fichtnerchevrolet.com

Several weeks ago there was an extensive thread regarding oil filters on the C-3 forum. Here is a link to a filter comparison that somemight find interesting. I know I did. Jerked the Fram off my '72 the next day.
