Default Poor stereo reception

I wondered if anyone else noticed this issue? I also can't see a built in antenna other than the navigation ant above the mirror. ANy obstruction brings in static on any FM channel.

I would see this as a problem for someone who should be getting good reception in a large metropolitan area (D/FW)

The M-B SLK engineers finally dropped their internal antenna in favor of the external antenna due to all the reception problems (even though, of course, it was not as an elegant of a solution to radio reception [translation: UGLY])

It's always a compromise...

AM/FM antennas built into the rear fascia, per GM.

AM/FM reception sux because it's a conspiracy between GM and XM (and perhaps Castro/Saddam/Osama are involved as well) to push XM on everyone so that we can proudly display their 'wart' antenna. Or, I could be wrong

I have this same issue. Here's my thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=918275

It's not even the least bit tolerable, and I never had this issue with other cars that have hidden antennas so I believe it's something that has to be fixed. I will take my car in next week and post an update.

I can attest that my C6 seems to get worse reception than the car I traded in ('96 Sunfire with an external antena).

Where I live in Cedar Park, TX (near Austin, TX), there's a station that I am just able to receive (with a little breakup/crackle) coming out of San Antonio (105.3). In my C6, I am unable to receive this same station at all.

Again technology and complexibility working against you and wait until it is time for service then you will have some real $$$$$ headaches. The antennas are located in the rear tail lamps for some reason.

Guys as much as I love the way the C6 looks, and applaud the efforts GM has made, I do not understand how this quality issue can go un noticed. I don't really listen to the radio but that dosent mean I shouldnt be able to if I wanted. Many owners get upset when questioning quality but I think it's stupid to ignore these so things don't get fixed (like the C5). It was always the small things that plagued our cars and it's a little annoying IMHO. Oh well, I guess that leaves room for aftermarket fixes

I am also getting poor and eratic radio reception. The CD sounds just fine. I did not have any reception problems with my '99.

Well, obviously, given your aversion to technology, you should stick to that piece of c#*p (although cool looking) 68 Charger.
