Default Pioneer AVIC-D1 Review for C6

Hi Guys,
I just got the Pioneer AVIC-D1 installed in my C6. I wanted to let you all know that I am very satisfied with this head unit and want to make sure any one looking for an alternative to the factory nav checks this unit out.

Sound Quality:
Simply amazing... Compared to the factory head unit it's like night and day. I had issues with the radio stations on the factory unit, gone !!! The factory unit had absolutely no auxilary inputs, gone !!! Sound quality was great on all inputs. I got the unit installed with the IPOD adapter. The Ipod can be controlled right from the touch screen display. Although the Ipod interface is not great, it is still functional and the sound quality is awesome.

Navigation:
I drove the car down to VA for memorial day weekend, absolutely no issues. I do not have XM so I cannot comment on the "Nav Traffic" feature but I'm sure it's very neat.

Rear View Camera:
That's right, there is a rear view camera module for this baby !!! It serves it's purpose (especially for my wife...). It's one of those "nice to haves".

In all I am very happy with the unit. The unit looks very much like the stock nav from far so there is no after market look to the car if installed correctly.

Please see pictures below of this unit. Again, very highy recommended !!!

Would love to see how it integrates into the dash. Also, the rear camera option and IPOD option make this a serious consideration.

Last question...how much (roughly)?

Sounds like a must have and whats good about it is if you trade or sell car just put in original and put this in new car so it saves you the value of always paying the option for it.

Nice set up. I am adding the Eclipse AVN unit this weekend and wanted to know if you are getting any error messages?

Nope, none whatsoever! Its a great setup!

By the way, we have a little switch in the middle console which we turn on when we want the system to think the parking brake is on so that we can control the nav when the car is in motion.

C6C - how far into NY is Valley Stream? I may have to get this exact thing done, at wherever you got it done, when I get my C6.

I'd be coming from the DC area. =0)

Well, we got it done in Freeport, Roger's Stereo-anyone interested just tell them Danny & Damaris sent you and you will get better pricing.
It's about 30-45 mins from Midtown, but you will have to leave your car for 1-2 days.

The rearview camera is right above the license plate, I will tell my husband(Dan1home) to get pics of that for you.

Wow, that's mighty nice of you. Thanks. How much, if I may ask, and was the hardware (the AVIC, camera, etc) included in the price or did you have to buy it all first/separately?

Default sound quality

You said the sound was better than the stock unit. Did you change the speakers?

Do the radio stations still show up in the heads up display when you change the channel?
