I got mine!!!
I'll attempt to keep this short & sweet.
First, the pics.
My Z next to a VY vert.
Front shot. She looks ready to hit the road home, doesn't she?
Me on the right, the legendary Dave Salvatore on the left. (Thanks for the handprint Dave! )
Solo shot.
The road home. (Waved to the C5 coming up on the left and he half-heartedly waved back. Not sure, but it looked like he was starting to cry. )
The road I'm on in the last pic is Rt 40, which is the alternate east/west route to the expressway. A nice drive and a great break-in road. I highly recommend it if anyone else is picking up from Kerbeck.
The car is simply amazing. The torque is unbelievable, and I've only unleashed a small percentage of the power in this car.
As one would expect, the ride is a bit rough at times, but honestly, not as rough as I had thought it would be. You feel the ruts and bumps more, as well as hear them more.
Which brings me to the road noise. I'm aware that many have concerns about this. Look fellas, this is a high performance sports car, not a luxury car, as some seem to think. The road noise is more prominent than in most cars, but it's not distracting IMO. I had the stereo at only a moderate volume for most of the ride, and road noise was not an issue. (Although I doubt many of you care, the CD choice for the ride home: LedZep III, Best of Hendrix, Kings Of Leon, Janes Addiction, Best of CCR, and Ted Leo And The Pharmacists)
This car, for all of it's power, feels extremely comfortable and solid. The clutch is easy to get used to. Steering is precise. Acceleration is smooth. Braking is out of this world.
The exhaust note is fine for me, although I know some will want more of a grumble at idle. As I was taking it easy for the ride home, I didn't get on it too much. However, the couple of times I gave it enough punch to open those butterfly valves, WOW! It was like , followed by a .
I think it's safe to say, even after only one day, that driving this car ranks as the best driving experience to date.
Lastly, kudos to Kerbeck for running a fab dealership. Met Mr. Kerbeck himself and he seems like a great guy. The cars in his collection are amazing. Many Vettes, as well as a nice variety of muscle cars, Bel Airs, and Impalas.
Thanks especially to Dave Salvatore for making this experience as enjoyable as a car buying experience should be.
When I arrived at Kerbeck Mon morn, I was shocked (but delighted)to hear that I was the first C6Z delivery from them. They only had 4 so far, my silver and three yellow. One of the yellows was being picked up later in the day by one of the Zaino guys.
Anyway, so much for short, but hopefully I kept it sweet.

A little video I put together...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Get Quicktime to play it if you don't already have it. Right-click and save-as please.
http://www.boostaholic.com/tmp/new_z06.mp4
This is with the "spare" fuse removed... (Refer to this thread). Basically the valves are open all the time. The car is LOUD. At idle, I'm actually starting to think it's too loud. I'm putting the fuse back in.
The car is INCREDIBLE.

From the VetteDoctors!!!
Hi all,
Over the past 2 weeks we have had 2 customers bring us their brand new 2006 Z06's for a baseline dyno and to discuss their plans for upgrades.
MajorSpray was in the shop today with his Yellow 06 Z06. He brought his car right from the dealer and could not wait to dyno the thing and start mapping out a plan for more power!!
We did a baseline dyno which delivered 453RWHP and 424 RWTQ. We then pulled the very restrictive factory air cleaner and re-dynoed the car. We then put down 474RWHP and 448 RWTQ!! +20RWHP from the air cleaner removal alone!
Paul's Z06 will be receiving our custom Z06 air box, a new custom Vette Doctors LS7 Cam, and a custom set of our prototype LS7 headers.
Here are some pictures of the stock air filter, the dyno sheet and the outside of the car:
Here is a Silver Z06 that I was lucky enough to drive with only 50 miles on it. The customer will be braking the car in for a few weeks and then it will be back at our shop for some improvements.
Here are some pictures:
I have some videos of the Z06 on the dyno and of the exhaust cut outs in operation that I will post later this week when I get a chance to edit them.
Enjoy,
