Winter tires and wheels and TPM's
If I use an addition set of winter tires and wheels without the tire pressure monitors what concerns or problems would I have?
Can TPM's for the c7 be purchased reasonably anywhere?
Appreciate any help anyone can give.
Thanks
John

TPM's can be purchased and installed prior to tire installation.
Also, if TPM's are on the original vehicle, regulations require they be installed and working on the vehicle even with tire/wheel changes.

There was a post a day or two ago about the TPM's and their programming procedure. From what I saw you can purchase the TPMs for about $30-40 each at some of the forum vendors (GMPartsdirect comes to mind).
As far as choosing runflat vs standard tires, that is your call. I've had several sets of non-runflat tires on a vette with no issues. Runflats have gotten better over the years. There are some winter/all-season tire options available now.
Like you I'll have a second set of tires and wheels for specific weather/seasons.

It has been reported in a CORVETTE magazine that OEM C7 tire manufacturer Michelin will produce all weather tires in near future
for C7...if performance close to summer set I'll swap out for all
season when new tires needed to get away from swapping every winter.

Michelin currently has run flat tires available in the "Non Z51" sizes and I have a set on my C6. I also think they are the same as the factory "summer only" tires. Check out Tire Rack and see for yourself

Melting Slicks
Tire stores generally have access to the monitors, or they could be a dealer order.

Porsche did away with the spare tire in their 911 /Boxster/Cayman almost 10 yrs ago a . None of these models came with run-flats after that - just a can of Fix- A- Flat spray goo and portable air pump and its buyers seem to want it that way- less compromised , quieter , lighter , more choices vs run -flats .
Not sure why GM managers or legal keep requiring Corvettes come with run-flats instead of Fix-a Flat and pump these past 17 model years . I suspect it is because Corvette owners include a lot who are older and do some distant multi-day touring as that is what they grew up doing with their parents in the back of station wagons in the 50s and 60s or live in smaller or more isolated towns ( where Chevy dealer is nearby) and need that security.
Most Porsche owners are probably the ones who were shuttled in minivans in the 80s as kids , as " drive to the national park/campgrounds " road tripping fell out of favor with their boomer parents , and whose cars never stray more than 50-100 miles from the built up urban core they tend to live around and who prefer to jet to destinations more than a few hours drive away.

Negative on much from tire rack. They do have one set of wheels you can put on a z51, but they are the exact same size as the OEMs (19's and 20's). I was the crazy guy that drove down to tire rack HQ to have them measure the car and model it, and that is what I was told. They did say the pirelli sotozero's fit, which I ordered and have on the car right now (it is actually still at the dealer, so I haven't driven on them yet, but they are on there).
Here's a picture from tire rack:
