1972 LT1 Convertible F/S- Matching #s
#2
Hi members. Time for me to sell my 1972 LT1 convertible due to a severe lack of space here. Bought another 67 A/C convertible recently, so I need the space, and the LT1 is on the hit list.
My asking price is $38,500 obo. You can see many photos and a full description at - http://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/cto/4615705165.html
1972 Corvette LT1 350/255hp convertible, Matching #s.
The engine is the rare LT1, matching #s, born with 350 cubic inch motor, with 255 hp, along with the original matching #s M21 4-speed transmission, and original 3.70 posi-rear. It also has an AM/FM stereo, white soft top, and very rare Black Vinyl Hard Top in mint shape, which was garaged by the previous owner for 33 years, and never put on the car. This car drives great, and looks great.
Since acquiring this car last year, I had it painted last month with the original Steel Cities Gray color in base coat / clear coat, and the front bumpers, rear bumpers and bumperettes were all triple plated chrome and look incredible. Also installed the A.I.R. pump, new door panels, new weather stripping, new emblems, new windshield pillar post moldings, new floor mats, rebuilt carburetor, and new battery. This car has no rust problems at all, with a solid frame.
The drive train is 100% original, and matching #s. The engine, transmission, rear end, and carburetor, are all 100% matching #s. I have attached photos of the Engine Pad stamping, as well as the Stamp on the Transmission and Rear End.
The 1972 Corvette LT1 is the most rare of all three years of LT1 Corvettes by % of cars built for each year from 1970 - 1972. The 1972 Corvette LT1 is also the most rare of all LT1 Convertibles.
The 1972 LT1 is the only year of the three year series which Designates the Engine Code in the VIN ( L ) , which eliminates many Fake LT1s which are common for 1970 and 1971.
VIN # : 1Z67L2S521028 ( Third Digit = 6 = Convertible, Fifth Digit = L = LT1 motor )
Engine Pad : 12S521028 V0505CKY ( V = Flint, 0505 = May 5th, CKY = LT1 350ci/255hp )
Engine Block Date: D 12 2 ( April 12, 1972 )
Transmission: 12S521028 P2E01B ( P = Muncie, 2 = 1972, E01 May 01, B = M21 )
Rear End: AB W 117 E2 (AB = 3.70 ratio, W = Warner Plant, 117 = 117th day or April 26th, E = Eaton, 2 = 2nd shift )
Trim Tag: J10 = May 10 build date, Trim 400 = Black Vinyl, Seat Covers Paint 988 = Steel Cities Gray
1972 Corvette Statistics:
20,496 Coupes, 6508 Convertibles = 27,004 Total
LT1 350ci, 255hp Engine 1741 Total ( 6.45% of Total Production ) versus ( 1970 LT1s were 7.43% of Total Production )
24% of 1972 Corvettes are Convertibles = Approximately only 418 LT1 Convertibles in 1972 versus ( 1970 LT1 Convertibles Approximately 494 )
Paint Code 988 = Steel Cities Gray only 2,346 ( 8.7% of Total Production, Approximately only 566 Convertibles )
RPO # C08 Vinyl Covering for Auxiliary Hardtop = 811 Total (very rare )
This car needs nothing to be enjoyed by a new owner. It runs great, the motor is fast and powerful, and the headlight doors and wiper door open and close perfectly. I am only selling it due to a lack of space, as I just acquired a rare 1967 Corvette, as well as an NCRS restored 1955 Corvette.
If you would like more information or photos of my car, please feel free to contact me by email, or calls between 9am and 9pm. Principals only please, I am not looking to auction or list my car on another site, and not interested to list it with any dealers as well. I am located in Boca Raton, FL 33498, and I welcome and encourage an in person inspection prior to purchase.
My price is $38,500 obo.
If there are any other requests, please feel free to contact me by email or phone.

Thanks for the nice compliments guys. I am reducing the price to Forum Members only for a quick sale to $35,000. If this LT1 doesn't sell for this price before next weekend is over, then I guess I'll just keep it.
I will not be lowering the price below $35k, so if you are prepared to buy it, or come and see it in person, please do not try to negotiate a lower price. I will politely ignore your emails, calls or visit. Please feel free to ask any questions in advance, or requests of certain photos, etc. The car runs and drives great, and IMHO, this is a bargain at $35k.
Thanks again,
Steve

The car currently has a very nice white soft, but I'll include a brand new in the box Al Knoch black soft top as well.
Thanks,
Steve

Nice one Steve, and an unusual color.
You know that I am hooked to Factory A/C so it was not my #1.......but I am really surprised it did not move instantly.
You mind if I repost your listing in the German Corvette Forum? LT-1 Vert for this price should find lovers easily.
Cheers,
Axel

Thank you for the compliments guys. I am just as surprised that this LT1 has not sold yet either. Not one person has visited, and I have only had 2 inquiries. I know the price is low, but that is only because I have a storage deficit, lol.
Have a great weekend,
Steve
